"This could apply to anything, and actually this concept is probably useful for guys to know. Let’s say for example you have a scar on your face, which is probably going to be atypical of most guys and you’ve got a girl in front of you who is used to the “typical” guy (no scars on face). OK, so, let’s say there are only 3 feelings she’ll have toward you:
- Likes you
- Is neutral
- Dislikes you
Neutral, the scar will never come up. Likes you, she will say that she likes scars on guys. Doesn’t like you, the scar will be rationalized as something she doesn’t like. The scar itself is IRRELEVANT. The basis of her feelings on it will be based on her perception of you.
