what spray would get me bigger tips?

I delivery pizzas, I was wondering what spray would be best to generally get bigger tips? I know it may be convoluted, but I figure someone might have a suggestion!

I don’t think you have enough time in front of the person who ordered the pizzas to have pheros take effect. (And you’re outside their door, too, right?)

If you want to try anyway, my rank for experimenting would be (most likely first) [a] A314, ** Instant Shine, [c] Spaceland.

Off topic, but the band King Crimson ROCKS!!! I don’t know if that’s what your name is in reference to, but they rock. (The older stuff mostly, the new stuff is a little odd)

The time frame is an issue. I think spaceland would be a good choice for this reason. It’s such a high dose you may get more instantanious or faster acting results. You may even space them out to a point where they give you a bigger tip without realizing it. Like handing you a 5 instead of a 1.

spaceland might make me forget your waiting for a tip, but on the other hand you may be fun enough to invite in for some pizza ! :stuck_out_tongue:

i would try CTTM . you need something engageing but not too serious or too light .
you might even request double strength if jasmin thinks fit.

You know, when I’m with my kids and we order pizza, we have the total amount ready beforehand, tip included.

So you might consider a strategy that might not get immediate results (bigger tip tonight) but which instead helps to get you a bigger tip the next time they order – assuming you have some regulars you can depend on.

That’s awsome. Nice idea MarkL.

I work as a delivery driver also (one of my several jobs) so you and I should trade advice.

What MarkL said is definitely true, many people do have the cash AND tip ready in advance. With these people, the tip you get THAT TIME will be unaffected by your interaction with them, but future tips might. In fact, their impression of your business as a whole will be influenced by their short interaction with you as delivery driver, along with about 100 other factors. I don’t have too much of a clue what pheromones have helped me with getting bigger tips, but I’ll share with you some of the advice I have about delivery driving in general.

Here are some of the things that will affect your tip amount, which I believe comes down to a combination of three categories: past experience with you or your company (how good your food is, whether it was cold or messy when delivered last time, impression made by you or other delivery drivers), present interaction upon delivery (how friendly you are, how fast you got the food there), and miscellaneous financial factors (how much money they have available at the moment, how much their total is and whether they have to ask you for change back or add the tip on). Every customer is different and knowledge of a customer’s tipping habits can often be useful in how much you get tipped. For example, one regular customer generally tips between 0 and 2 dollars, but one time tipped 3 dollars when I got the food to her within 40 minutes of the order being placed (our general time from order placed to delivery is from 45 - 1 hr). Sometimes when a customer specifies they want a modification to the order (such as asking to have a side of marinara sauce included with pizza) I’ll mention to them how I made sure they were taken care of which often gets me a good tip. A lot of times when handing them the bags of food (we carry a lot more than pizza) I’ll tell them what’s in each bag if I can remember. I find that being extremely friendly, but not seeming like I’m obviously trying to get a tip from them, makes people feel more generous in turn.

My largest tip ever was $30 on an order of $120 of food. My average tip is somewhere between 2.50 and 3.50 dollars but my median tip is probably between 1 and 2 dollars. I also notice that I get better tips from women.

Actually I’m pretty on the fence as to how I feel the pheromones are effecting me (I guess I’m pretty bad at picking up all these hidden signals other people are sending me that tell me that pheromones are in some way influencing their perceptions of me) but just typing this out, I’ve realized that the entire last couple weeks I’ve been in a REALLY good mood while working at the delivery job. This also coincides with the arrival of my most recent pheromone shipment which consisted of Instant Shine x2, Instant Openness x2, and Ammunition x2. Since then I’ve been wearing about 1-2 openness, 2-3 shine, and 1-2 ammo daily applied before work. I’m starting to think they might be influencing my mood positively, which can only help with my tip earnings. However, the weather this last couple weeks has also been much improved compared to the preceding weeks, so once again I’m not convinced of anything. I guess time will tell

Definitely let me know what you’ve been trying and what you find to work (both pheromone-related or anything else you might have)

I haven’t responded or posted a lot lately as I’ve been busy keeping up with life. I thought about what MarkL said and like always he is a brilliant guy who I enjoy reading.

I don’t disagree with the fact that I’m sure many people do have everything ready, tip included when ordering.

I can’t say this is the case with me though. Whenever I order I take into consideration almost exactly what ILiveForTheMusic is saying. My tips are based on the time it takes to get the food, the presentation of the delivery person (I find it terrible and refuse food when the driver is unkempt :open_mouth: ) what the food looks like (I make them wait a minute and invite them in to ensure everything is there and it looks ok) and just the general overall disposition of the driver themselves.

Some times they become a little disturbed if I make them wait, but I am ordering food and plan to compensate them for their efforts. I give a tip based on them as I know what it’s like to try and make a living and pay your way through college. I take everything into consideration and tip them accordingly.

Am I rare in this aspect of food delivery? I am sure I am, but I also tip very well. Even if the food is only $10, but the delivery person meets the expectations of what I have come to expect I will tip about $5 to $10.

It’s worth it to me to let them understand that they have done a great job and garnered my respect. Living in a small town not many places deliver, not even the Chinese place, but those that do know that I expect quality, but I am also willing to pay for it.

But like I said MarkL is pretty much brilliant and in this instance (again) he’s spot on to what you should probably expect.

And I really need new glasses and maybe a change in “mind.”

When I scanned at the thread title I kinda read “T-I-P-S” as something similar but different shall we say… (substitute the “P” with another “T”…)

Yeah I can here tha ladies saying it now…

“Men! That’s all they think about!”

Hmmm… come to think about it…

i think guys do tend to see things a little bigger better prettier hotter when a chick wears cops.
ha, im not the only perv.

Awesome, I was on the job today and thinking about a strategy that might work; dressing very nice, making my hair good, and maybe using the spray that makes people seem important. Maybe then they would give bigger tips?? I have about 40 seconds face time with them, if they see I look like a fancy restaurant waiter they might tip bigger.

Just one more item to toss into the hopper … I assume you have a cell phone and that the customer’s phone number is on the delivery ticket.

What do you think would happen if (when you are about three minutes away) you called the customer and say “Hi, this is <name> from <food establishment> and I just wanted you to know that I’m about five minutes away. I’ll see you soon.”

Might be very effective with certain kinds of customers – I can tell you it would be a hit with me, enough that I’d make a last minute adjustment to the tip for excellent service. Just don’t ring the doorbell more than five and a half minutes after calling …

Also – this is a bit devious, but: A while back I worked with a men’s tailored clothing company (manufacture and retail, expensive suits, etc.) One rapidly rising star who worked retail would take a newly tailored suit jacket when it came in, call the customer to come pick up the suit – but then cut off one button from a cuff.

The customer would pick up the garment, take it home. The “star” would then call the customer to say he’d discovered the missing button, would the customer check the sleeve … and then the young salesman would deliver the button – and sew it on – at the customer’s home or office on his own time, off the clock.

Those customers were so impressed that they switched to him exclusively, and he got 9% commissions on every sale. Of course, some of his customers were so impressed that they wrote to the company, which is how we found out.
Sometimes you can “manufacture” opportunities for distinctive customer service. Dressing like a waiter in a fine dining restaurant will definitely impress some folks while others may think it’s cheesey.

I urge you to experiment – and keep records when you try something as well as when you just execute the routine. You’ll notice patterns and changes better if you keep stats…

Court of the Crimson King, Lizard, Island, Lark’s Tongue in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black…some classic head music from back in the day…I can almost remember…lol. There are some gems among their newer stuff, as well.
