YSL M7-have any of you tried it ?

I recently discovered Yves Saint Laurent’s M7, an absolutely amazing cologne. Though it’s been out since 2002, I just discovered it. It has some interesting ingredients, and though it smells kinda mediciny when it first goes on, it’s dry down is amazing, kinda like a caramel/raspberry type of smell. Women seem to love it. After buying a 1.7ml edt bottle in Manhattan, I have since ordered a gift pack that includes a 3.4ml edt and body wash.

The only problem, as far as I’m concerned, is that due to poor sales, it’s been discontinued. I personally like it more than Sexual, which was a hot topic on this message board a few months ago. Unfortunately, since M7 is not a Neroli kind of scent, I feel you can not cover any of the pheros sold here with M7 (though mandarin is an ingredient in it). I do use The Edge Unscented with most of my colognes, including M7, my new favorite. Here’s what Basenotes says about it. And a few of the reviews.

M7 Fragrance Notes

Sensual, leathery and dry with a medicinal quality that I’d encountered before in Joop!On me it lasts and lasts.I’m told that agarwood is an aphrodisiac and I certainly got lots of positive comments from the opposite sex when I was wearing this! One of my favourites.

A dark fragrance that is saturated with Oud/Agarwood. Reminds me of the incense burning in orthodox hindu temples in South India.

This is one fragrance I’ll take it to my grave

Of course there are some negative comments also, but thats possibly because M7 didn’t mix well with their chemistry. This is my new favorite, and new secret weapon, since I don’t know anyone else who uses it. It also seems to last a while on me, constantly changing.

You can definitely cover any pheromones with M7. Very deep oriental! Neroli is a lightweight compared to this (compared to any oriental, really).

the word is that for one, this is a night only fragrance, and two it is quite strong, some have said that one spritz is good, be careful going more than one because it takes over the room, and third is some people love it and an equal number hate it… I’ve never read as much divided opinion except for the bordrerline disgusting Yatagan… sooooo… IF you like it (better test it first !), IF your social scene can deal with it, maybe give it a go… mandrake root is rumored to smell weird as hell… supposedly used in old magik rituals… :o

IS M7 Fresh any lighter for daytime use? Agarwood based quality fragrance don’t really get any cheaper than this!

I had M7 for a while, it’s such a great woody oriental scent! Strong too! One spray does it all. I got a sample of M7 Fresh Nbully, i would say it delivers the scent more subtle and seems to be lighter. It is versatile and I think it can be worn anytime and anywhere . Some tend to say it smells like Fruit Loops! l0l

Thanks GQ! I might have to give it a shot.

You are more than welcome! It’s good to be back! and Nbully, where are my reps?

Oops!:open_mouth:

lol! :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the reps!

Kouros is another great one from YSL, like M7 a little goes a long way.

I wonder whether M7 Fragrance Notes uses pure or synthetic agarwood, musk or amber?

nbully if you have not tried it yet, m7 fresh smells like fruity pebbles or fruit loops. i got a big bottle at a online shop .kinda rare in u.s it is a good scent for the day.It kinda lives up to the hype, i give it a 7/10
