Zapped Neurotransmitters

I was wondering what everyone thought of an effective solution when pheros no longer work due tiredness, neurotranmitters no longer functioning, lack of serotonin. This usually happens when you have been a phero user long term ie 6 months to a year or more.

Obviously a break from pheros is good but for how long especially when the temptation to squirt on a phero on in the morning can be overpowering?

Anything to raise the serotonin levels in the brain like exercise and quality food is helpful. I dont think injections of serotonin are available but would be faster acting than eating a bowl of brown rice.

From what I know the brain is a delicate piece of machinery and when the pendulum starts swinging the other way ie feeling irritable, tired, low mood etc the pheromones need to be left in the box.

I also think it all boils down to who has got the biggest brain and who can use it at a greater speed and on a consistant basis without the fallout of fatigue.

use pheros for three days n take a 2 day break. i read that on the forum for finding ur sweet spot thanks to steve, maybe it’ll work for this too. cause ur brain can rest for those 2 days

The temptation is strong to spritz in the morning… when I’m about to take a time out from mones, in the morning when I get ready I automatically look over my precious blue bottles and think what to wear today??? Then, I gotta slap myself to get back to my time out!!!

Sometimes, ehow, gets some good info on stuff. I looked up serotonin and basically, meats and nuts will do this along with exercise. Also increasing sunlight exposure. Low levels of seratonin also seem to contribute to SAD. So, this could also work, I would think…

How to Increase Serotonin Levels in the Brain | eHow.com

Knowing what will maintain a healthy level of functioning neurotrasmitters would be great, in whatever form it takes.

On the nutritional aspect, Serotonin has been shown to be increased by either St Johns Wort or 5 Hydroxy Tryptophan (5HTP). There are a couple of potential drawbacks to playing around with your neurotransmitter levels though.
First as you seem to already be aware of the biofeedback loop. Where if something about the bodies chemistry goes too far in one direction there can be a pendulum like swing back in the opposite direction to try and regain a balanced homeostasis (think bodybuilders shooting testosterone and developing tits as a side effect). But beyond that, while serotonin may be associated with feelings of calm, well being and alpha male behaviors, it’s probably not the NT you’re thinking of. Sero levels rise at night or in the dark and too much can make you drowsy. As a result if you manage to create an increase if free serotonin in the brain, you may experience what it called serotonin syndrome…the main effects being an unusual sensitivity to bright light, particularly in the eyes though I hear it can effect the skin as well.

If alertness and energy levels are what you’re thinking of, dopamine would be the better direction to focus on. In that case Tyrosine would be a good supplement to add to your diet. Of course a solid multi with a good broad spectrum of B complex vitamins to aid in synthesis would be a solid bet.
Disclaimer, Tyrosine has the disturbing side effect of turning an ordinary cup of coffee into rocket fuel. No bullshit, it amplifies the effects of caffeine substantially so if you’re a coffee or soda drinker be warned, I will have a hard time signing my name without it looking like the readings of a lie detector attached to a car salesman when I have caffeine and Tyro.

I wonder what the effects of mones would be like for users who lean towards any of the neurotransmitter deficiencies or on medications that augment the chemical balances in the brain. Stuff like ritalin which affects the dopamine levels and prozac which affects the serotonin re-uptake.

It would be interesting if any of those we’d like to influence/target have any of the conditions above too.

that is what goes thru my head every morning too :stuck_out_tongue: hahahaha great minds think alike I guess!

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Definitely going to fit in more regular exercise ie going for walks in my lunch period - especially if the sun is out! Going to try and drink less caffeine - cans of coke are my downfall! I think keeping things natural is best.

Respect the brain at all times!

Just take a break a few days a week from using mones. Your neurotransmitters snap right back to normal as long as there is nothing physically wrong going on in the first place to put them off balance.

I do suggest taking a good multivitamin high in B’s and drinking lots of water. You dont have to go all hog wild taking weird supplements. Its not that I dont believe in supplements but I am a advocate for going as natural as possible as well when you can. If you cant get the results after the natural approach then think about other supplements.

Eating more green veggies and snacking on some raw nuts helps. Less caffeine and limiting alcohol to a reasonable level helps as well.

Steve and I both are avid juicers. You may want to consider getting a low cost one like the Jack Lalanne juicer and juicing daily with lots of green foods fruit and other veggies.
