PHEROMONE: 1 spray IG (1x)
Other than using IG solo for self effects, I haven’t used it solo in a social situation, so it’s about time. I took Vanadium’s cue (post #25) and used it in a professional setting to ensure I’m respected and taken seriously. Since being reintroduced to pool by my school teacher friend, I’ve been playing regularly and decided to take lessons to improve my game. This is my first pool lesson with a guy I found on the intertubes.
OBSERVATIONS:
I did a single spray of IG to my neck right before leaving the house. During the drive, I felt very confident and happy. I think I felt happy because I was finally doing something for me. The pool lessons were sort of a Christmas gift to myself. However, when I got to the freeway, the traffic was horrible, much more so than normal. But not to worry, I told myself. I’m wearing IG!
At the earliest opportunity, I quickly got off the freeway and took the side streets. I was pretty darn aggressive, weaving in and out of lanes. I found myself getting tense, which I thought was unusual. I often were IG in the car just to ease my road rage, but I realized if there is something I hate more than stupid drivers, it’s being late for an appointment. So, in true fashion of a gentleman, I quickly reviewed all possible options of how my pool teacher may react to my tardiness. As I examined each one, I realized that none of them seemed that bad. If he doesn’t understand that traffic can be horrible during the holidays, then it’ll a clear sign I need a new teacher. I could deal with that. I just had to remind myself that my tardiness is no reflection on me as a person.
I got to the pool hall and met my new teacher (early 60s). He was very warm and appreciative to meet me, as I was appreciative of meeting him. Lessons got underway after a brief recount of my history with playing pool and my goals for taking lessons.
He seemed eager to share with me his knowledge and experience. He provided very good feedback and was very observant of my posture and stance. As we were discussing my stance, he asked, “You’re 5’10” (178 cm), right?" I told him I was actually 5’7" (170 cm). He then said, “Well, you must have a very large presence. You seem much taller!”
The rest of the lesson went well. He gave me very good pointers and several practice drills to do until our next lesson together. At the end of our time, I had to stop him from sharing more information with me. I was getting a bit overloaded!
ASSESSMENT:
Normally I would have chosen A314, but IG was a very good choice. We seemed to have bonded quickly. I felt he was more than willing to take me under his wing. I was especially flattered when he commented that I appeared taller than I really am. I also felt he respected me and didn’t take issue about me being 15 minutes late.
IG is definitely useful when hiring someone for a particular service. I felt I got exactly what I wanted, and some. We had very good rapport, and I felt he was genuinely interested in my success. Any corrections to my stance or to my aim was given with great respect and sincerity.
I have only 1 or 2 more sprays of IG left. I just ordered a 30 mL bottle in World scent. Hopefully I’ll have it before my next lesson. I’ll try 2 sprays next time.
