Snake Oil is a deep vanillic/benzoin fragrance oil, hypnotic and sexual. In the same family as Musk Ravageur, it’s a fragrance for seduction, glamour, magic, sex.
It’s completely the opposite of GIT, which is exactly as Tommy369 says, supremely gorgeous and I would NOT get an imitation of GIT; get the real thing.
Creed scents are special not because of the fragrance concept (which can be copied, and generally isn’t unusual or original compared to commerical frags) but the execution and materials used … a cheap “version” of GIT is going to smell cheap because they aren’t using fine materials.
I say go with Crowley by BPAL! Or the GIT clone but yeah, I’m not sure if it smells the same way as the original one. So who knows, but as far as the other ones I’m not sure what they smell like. I hear Snake Oil smells very good though.
I am pretty sure they’re supposed to be used straight DJ, that’s how I wear my Crowley and honestly even though the smell may be pretty strong at first, to my nose it doesn’t seem to last that long but that might just be olfactory exhaustion. I am curious to know if you can dilute this into some PA though, but since it’s an oil mixing will probably be an issue.
DJ, if you like sweet scents, you’ll love snake oil, however, it’s a big if. I for one love it.
Crowley is also quite good (as well as sweet) and frankly, not all that different from snake oil. Of all the BPAL scents I’ve tried, I find it is the most similar to snake oil. The dry down is a bit different…more leathery. If you like Crowley, you’ll most likely like snake oil and viceversa.
I find that if you take a small dab with your finger, it is enough for your wrists and neck and the smell won’t be too strong.
Although both scents are easy to pull off by a guy, I feel that mixed with a woman’s skin chemistry these would be incredible. Snake Oil is a bit more femenine, but again a guy can definitely pull it off, I use it all the time.
Yeah, the more I go on BPAL the more I want to purchase more of these odd scents! The carnival series sounds like it might smell nice too, and Cathedral is also good if you like incense like say, in a church. It’s somewhat a la Monk.
