Here is my overall thoughts of these scents from The Common scent LLC:
Tobacco vanille real and clone Tom Ford - The real is much stronger and much more vanille than the clone, however the clone had roughly the same silage time as the authentic but the notes after 10 hours were a bit more muggled than the tom ford.
black code by armani - It is scary how close this is to the real thing, but it smells much better on me than the real thing, so this is a keeper for me.
green irish tweed clone - real does not do it for me, the real smelt too much like pine for me, the clone is a bit sweeter smelling and now at at 2 hours after application I have a spread of about 7 foot where it smells like this scent, and at 4 inches above application point it is a sweet smelling fragrance. Slightly more floral and a bit more aquatic… smells like fresh sweet water, slight soap, like clean fresh linen wrapped man, the man part I assume is from me, but woof, this I feel is a sexy scent and will be putting it through the ropes.
red for men by GBH (discontinued) clone - Spicy is what this is, I believe it was in the old spaceland togo lol so there is a slight hint of cleary sage for about a minute then it quickly fades away. Nice unique scent regardless, date mix all the way
The one by D&G clone - This is a sweet scent, and turns quite nice on me within minutes once the head cords die down and the heart cords come out. I feel on the top end they went light on the grapefruit as opposed to the real thing and more mellow and in sync with the corrander and the basil. Now this scent really comes into it’s own when the heart cord comes out. the light orange blossom(neroli) ginger and cardamon, the ginger is light heavy cardamon but it is sooo nice, the heart cord mixes so well with the body cord that it is quite heavenly, they mingle and when the base cord finally comes into full bloom it is magical, the cedar ambergris and hint of tobacco perhaps in this clone they used a hint of clove… it just fits very well
Acqua Di gio clone - Yet to try, smells close to the authentic but since they are going to reformulate I wanted to find something close to stock up on. Will report back asap
Acqua Di gio clone - ok, this is a bit course in that it is quite strong on application, once diedown it is very very nice and SPOT ON, ADG… a bit sweeter on my skin than my real bottle of adg… but 2 hours later… this stuff is still a trooper… I am quite happy I got this.
Eau Sauvage* - stronger older scent, masculine for sure, I like it but younger ladies would not like or understand it’s signature see as older male
*
Creed Virgin Island Water *- blue coconut with rum… i want to drink it… the bottle is really blue colored… smells womderful I like it a lot as a tropical fresh linen scent
*
Very Sexy for Him by Victoria’s Secret *- not really doing it for me, smells like orange blossom… pinkish in color
*
Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren *- light blue in color, not sure but smells like oak moss or some moss in general a bit musky but clean, but not linen clean 3 out of 5 for me
*
Pink Sugar by Aquolina - Love this for a woman, made my cops smell like sexy cotton candy pu$$ cops.. VERY Good, lesbian girl I know I went over wearing cops 6 sprays with this over my stomach and thighs… all she said was "she smells delicious… I said… And tastes *So VERY EFFECTIVE! Excellent cover
*
Fierce (M) Type- Got my first cologne hit… and I quote… you smell really.. good… I asked oh my neck… she said no… just… and then she hugged me…
21 year old Caucasian… Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!
I just got a couple of these in spray form, yet to be delivered. What do you have Deej? Spray? If so, do you think the spray form will be oil based too or cut?
Well Fantasy angel, it is better to cut them down to 20% so they will have lift from the alcohol as well as have some spread over you.
You can wear them directly however I would not recommend this.
20% @ 3 sprays one to chest one to neck one to top of hands… that is enough for me… and has excellent silage touch up at 3 hours of 1 spray and then 4 hours later perhaps one to keep the notes fresh if you are sweating.
I got straight oil and am cutting them down wither everclear…
But oil should work it would not have as good silage I would think.
Well, if you’re just going by this judgment according to the way the clone smells like then I’d wait to smell the real thing first. I’m not a huge fan of it, but it’s OK. Definitely too hyped up though.
Just buy some perfumers alcohol or Everclear then get yourself a clean empty atomizer then let’s say you want to cut down the oil to 10% fragrance oil to 65% perfumers alcohol or Everclear base. What you do is then fill the atomizer with 0.5 ml of the oil (10%) then fill the rest with the 65% of perfumers alcohol which if I’m not mistaken will be 3.25 ml.
It depends on how diluted you want it. For example no more than 20% fragrance oil in proportion to the alcohol is somewhat decent strength so it all depends really as far as base goes. I just follow the percentages offered on the commonscents.com website, but here’s a guideline as far as fragrance percentage goes.
Determining Fragrance Type
When developing a fragrance, it’s best to first decide what type of fragrance is preferred and the specific scent variation. Creating a fragrance variation can depend on a few variables. The most important is that of the formula. There are many differences between perfumes and colognes. The specific descending levels of concentration oils are: perfume (30 percent); eau de perfume (15 percent); eau de toilette (8 percent); cologne (5 percent); and cologne splash (3 percent). The remaining components are alcohol and water, or carrier oil (for oil-based perfume).
