I’ve only visited once and we didn’t tour much. We stayed near Puerta Plata. It’s lovely. The people are so friendly, genuinely warm and kind. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

I grew up mostly in Santo Domingo. Check out Punta Cana, Bavaro Beach, they have some nice beaches and cool resorts there.
Yes, the beaches are beautiful. Next time we may take a little excursion out that way. We stayed at a place, north central not far from Puerto Plata, that’s small and secluded with a private beach. It’s away from the general tourist frenzy. It was the perfect place to relax and indulge. We liked it so much we’re goin’ back in May for Wolf’s birthday and our anniversary.
Oh, and I love the food. It’s so fresh, yummy and well prepared. God, the braised goat! Don’t get me started.
