Hey, this is my journal. Maybe if I can, post some of my “Day X” reports too, just to put them altogether.
Today I wore a quarter pack of Perception gel, 2 drops of WAGG on my wrists. I covered them up with a motorcycle jacket and gloves, and went for a little ride. First to the gas station, then I got down and discovered the road is blocked for a football game, so I couldn’t go to Starbucks. I went to the other coffee shop instead. Oh, BTW I’m riding the Honda Metropolitan today (see avatar).
Yeah, really hard core biker. LOL. It’s not great for speed, but gets about 100-110 mpg. I haven’t ridden it in months (probably will sell it one of these days), full of Sta-bil, and it just sits in the garage so I just cranked it over with the kick start, aired up the tires, and took off. I must look pretty unusual riding around in a full face helmet, gauntlet gloves, and racing boots… on a little 50, but I don’t care, let 'me stare… I’ll love it. I’ll just stare back, I’m such a badass tonight. I’ve got that “sang-froid” or whatever the French call that stuff: “I don’t give a damn”.
But man… drum brakes suck. It’s been months since I rode anything with drum brakes on the front wheel. I had a bit of a “gulp” moment at an intersection where I pulled on the brakes and it felt like I was pulling on a piece of string. I finally pulled harder and I actually locked the damn things up a skidded a bit. Wow. Not to self: take a few practice brakes before going out, and check and adjust the brakes. And the handling on this thing… Telepathic steering, I only have to look where I want to go, and just a touch of counter steering and I’m turning. Straight line handling? Ummm… it sort of sucks, it’s like balancing on an egg compared to a bigger bike - the frame is aluminum and there’s some frame/suspension pumping I feel in the handlebars, too. I feel like I’m sitting on a souped up lawnmower. I feel sort of wierd, being as I’ve been riding my Ninja 250 for months on end. Next up is the Reflex 250, the sporty station wagon of scooters. But I digress…
So, I go to the coffee shop. Not many people here. I go into the umm, john, and do my bidness and spray on some Instant Shine 2x and 1 spray instant honesty. I go out to order some coffee and there’s a brunette behind the counter. Wow, I smell like neroli a bit, not alot. There’s a brunettes sitting on one of those wicker chairs, and she gives me a long, hard look. She’s not doing anything. Go up to the counter and the brunette behind the counter approaches me. We make eye contact, and I order some coffee. She asks if I want room for cream, I say “yes, please”, making eye contact with her. She returns a few seconds later and she hands me coffee. I just say “thanks”, and she says “have a nice evening”.
I get to the cream/sugars, look in the coffee and there’s no room for cream. Huh? Why did she get my order wrong. This is like the second time this week this has happened to me. Maybe she was paying attention to something else? Who knows.
So, I sit down at one of the tables and just nonchalantly sip my coffee. I turn and look at the brunette in the wicker chair and give her a little smiley smirk, not much, and she looks away. Wow, I guess I’m not her type or she’s shy. I feel sort of ackward, but don’t let it get to me. So I finish my coffee and leave…
Then I go to the grocery store. Nothing much happens here. The cute brunette is there, but I don’t say alot to her. I’m polite but she seems a bit reserved around me, and won’t make alot of eye contact. I need to work up the umm, balls, to start a real conversation one of these days, I guess. “Hey, what’s your name?” Is that too cheasy? “You’ve got nice eyes?” Too forward? “Wow, that was a great bargain”- ah, much better… nice and neutral. Hard to get excited about black eyed peas, though.
The neroli DOES survive the 2 1/2 mile trip home, at 35-40 mph on the little midget scooter. But it’s died down a little. I got a helmet full of neroli and when I got home, I was a bit hot and the pheros and neroli made me a bit nauseaous and I had to rest for a minute and grab a glass of water.
Later I go out to eat with my folks- my bro. isn’t there. I spritz on a few more cover scents of Brut Revolution. My dad is a rotten mood when he gets into the car, but this seems to change once we get to the burger joint. I order a coffee, some fries, and some cottage cheese with a pineapple. I give lots of eye contact to the waitress but she doesn’t seem all that interested in returning to much eye contact. Just to remind her I’m alive, I occasionally give her soft gazes as she takes the orders.
The conversation with my family is a touch dark and heavy, but energetic. I’m making my dad in a good mood for some reason. My dad is a bit grumpy but I manage to spin things around so he can at least laugh a bit. My darker side is showing through, and I’m feeling just a wee bit angsty, probably from the androstenone- it seems to bring out the “dark side” a little and keep me on edge a bit, and the Instant Honesty seems to be steering the conversation towards darking topics- like my dad’s seeming racist dislike of Barak Obama ("he’s inexperienced- “oh really”). We also talk about Peak Oil and why oil prices are not just a conspiracy on the part of oil companies, but a failure of US energy policy, for which every American is collectively responsible (my dad blames the oil companies and says it’s all a conspiracy, to which I said “that’s reactionary, simplistic thinking- simplifying a complex problem into a sound bite for gullible people. You should be smarter than that”). For such a heavy conversation, though, my dad doesn’t seem the least bit off-put. I’m actually winning the conversation, albeit with a good amount of give and take, and an occasional laugh and non-serious moment.
I don’t mind getting under peoples skin just a little bit, but I’m composed enough to figure out where the edge is- and amazing my dad isn’t pushing my buttons like he usually tries to, or at least, he can’t “take the Mickey out of me” (to use a British saying).
All in all, we had a good time and I think the Instant Shine owed a good deal to that, but I’m surprised that the conversation was relatively dark. I think I’m entering a bit of a funk, too. Not a heavy one, just my bitter edge is comming back.
I’ll have to see how it goes. Can I keep the Beast in check?
Heh heh, maybe I am a bit of a “bad boy” after all, the touch of androstenone just brings it out a little. I’m not sure it’s making the ladies cozy, but it definitely seems to give me a little “power” in a small dosage. I’m not sure I like it, though. I’m not my usual serene Buddha self (OK, when I’m not depressed, like in the winter and feeling like a Sylvia Plath poem- just kidding… but I do get moody sometimes and I do have a history of depression). Truth be told, before I put pheromones on today, I was feeling a bit down, so maybe that’s part of it.
