Had my second internship interview today. This one was at a hospital, and consisted of a 30-minute group interview, followed by 2 one-on-one interviews, and then an informal meeting with the current interns to get their view.
The serum
- 2 drops of A314 Dinosaur Chicken Edition applied behind the ears and along the jawline about 2 hours before the interview
- 2 sprays of Instant Honesty applied behind ears and around neck 5 minutes before the first interview began
The kick
I had planned to arrive early, but after a number of delays I managed to get there right on time, and was the last of three applicants to enter the group interview room. The other two applicants were female; one of them looked kind of slutty and had managed to secure the male interviewers’ primary attentions prior to my arrival. The room was small and both of the other interviewees had selected seats toward the far end of the room away from the interviewer, like this:
o = empty chair
$ = interviewer
@ = interviewee
o o @
$ o
o o @
So I walked in, gave him a warm handshake and sat down right next to him. Interviewer, meet the cloud.
This meeting was led by the program’s training director, who mostly just talked us all through the program’s brochure and explained what we should and should not expect from the program. I set about nonverbal pacing and leading, with the occasional astute question thrown in to further draw attention away from the other applicants. By the end the fellow was facing his whole body in my direction, and pointing almost all of his hand gestures in my direction. EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, most of the time he was actually leaning toward me.
My first individual interview was with him as well, and went pretty well. I felt at ease and talkative, which is a good sign. He asked very open-ended questions and just let me talk for most of the interview. I could only come up with a couple of questions, since he had answered questions in the previous session.
Next I had an interview with another psychologist there, who was a funny guy who liked asking really hard questions. I bet he never saw an interviewee feel more confident good-naturedly arguing against his position, or answering “You know, I’m really not sure.” I accepted his answers graciously, saying things like, “You’ve got a good point there.” By the end he was saying “I think you would work out just fine here”… and then “Yeah, I think you’ll work out good.”
Then the meeting with two of the current interns, both female, one of whom I knew fairly well from school. I told the one I knew that I hadn’t realized she was interning there until just the other day, and asked if she liked it. She started out, “Well, I’ll be honest…”
The other girl was also unusually forthcoming. I think this is the first time I’ve felt the “Honesty” effect of IH. Up until now I’ve experienced only its bonding effects. But it was all very useful information.
I think 2xA314 + 2xIH is a winning interview mix. It could still use something a little extra.
I wish Instant Shine worked for me the way it seems to work for most others. Further testing has revealed that my IS consistently messes with my mojo within minutes of application. I can’t quite put my finger on what the effect is. I notice that I become generally more self-conscious and caught up in useless details. It seems to shake my confidence somehow. I still intend to try a high dose of it some time soon to see if the effects are qualitatively different.
