Today I was given a surprise gift of 100 ml of carrier oil and 10 ml each of clary sage, lemon, orange, cedarwood and rose EOs. I’d like to use them as a base for a custom scent laced with pheromones. Has anyone got a formula for making a nice scent using these?
6 drops of rose to 1 drop of lemon is nice.
Maybe it should be 4 or 5 to 1, but it’s still nice.
EDIT: 6 Lemon, 1 “blended” rose oil, 1 clary sage. Kicks butt.
EDIT: er, 6 blended rose, one lemon, one clary sage. Smells a bit much like rose now though.
EDIT: I like it, it’s sexy. Maybe next time, I’ll use 4 rose instead.
I just realized this should be under perfumes, if anyone cares to move it.
I’m obsessed with the use of EO’s. I just mix haphazardly and let my nose be the guide. Trust your instincts. Deep down inside you know what your signature scent is. Become one with the clary sage. It sounds like your on the right track. Have fun.
Thank you for your advice. ![]()
I definitely need higher quality EOs.
The rose disappears after 15 minutes and the lemon after 30.
There’s so many great sites online that sale EO’s. Do a search and take your pick. The price is right also.
The above formula smells really sexy… I love it. I am definitely going to have to get some decent oils for that.
I just bought some EO’s too - clary sage, sandalwood australian, jojoba oil (as a diluent), rosewood. I hope to find some patchouli next.
How do you add the pheromones, I mean, if you have a certain quantity of EO’s, how much pheromones would you add to it? Do you mix in a glass bottle with dropper?
Any ideas would be really helpful.
Generally, I would mix the ~mones for the desired effect, then add the EO’s to taste. I use a dropper (eye dropper cap) bottle for my EO flavored mixes.
So the amount of pheromones is relatively similar to the amount of EO’s, right? Or even a bit more perhaps. I’m always thinking to avoid OD’ing, that’s why I ask too.
