What happens if pheromone use takes off and they get restricted or made illegal?

Ive been having terrible thoughts…

What happenes if this forum and androtics direct get really popular and mones use for prof/social advantage REALLY TAKES OFF!!! everyone will be using it and we wont have the edge anymore!!! 16yo gilrs spraying cops on everymorning, big bosses dousing themselves in A314, everysalesman doused in IO/IH and Shine?

What if people find out the calculating way we used these mones to effect those around us for our fun and profit and they are (drum roll) made illegal!!!

shouldnt we be keeping our precious wisdom secret? I know I am being mean but surely you can see the point?!? We should form a secret society and inscribe our wisdom in code onto wax tablets like the ancient egyptians did ha ha ha

WHY AM I THINKING THESE NIGHTMARISH THOUGHTS!!!
When i get my next paycheck i am BUYING OUT ANDROTICs DIRECT ENTIRE STOCK and i will keep it all in the freezer when it should last for 10 years.

…phew…(deep breath)… i feel a bit calmer now ive got that off my chest.

Long live Androtics Direct!!!

Ok doodee, no more Spaceland for you. And if we catch you spraying or snorting a whole to-go bottle of Alpha Androstenol again, you’re cutoff entirely. LOL

And, as for buying out Androtics stock, do it and we’re all coming after you  :open_mouth:

Well, I see the humor in what you are saying, but at the same time there have been both threads, PMs and actual conversations about this very idea: what happens when the pheromones become even more focused and even more effective?

As I recall, someone made a post about a lawsuit by a female with “buyers regret” when she found out her paramour from the night before used pheromones. Now I did not see anything about this myself but I think it was posted by a user in the NY area.

So - at a certain point maybe either scenario could come true. Pheros being controlled by law and/or like medicine, or maybe they become effective and well-known enough everyone starts using them. Not too wild an idea in my book.

God it doesnt bear thinking about. Im glad other people have been thinking about it and not just me- i am a lawyer and i can ,pessimistically, easily see this happening.

just look at the results some people have got- in club/bar situations where people have been driking and their inhibitions are down anyway- pheros can easily tipp things so that they do things they would not have done and if they find about the mones then thats it, they will sue. I think if there are many more cases like these getting into court, mones may end up being treated like spiking peoples drinks with drugs.

I can see pharmaceutical controls being put on them in the future as well. Some of the mones seem to act like antidepresants and depressants and are neurotransmitters. They have powerful effects on people’s physiological and psychological states. the powers that be are not gonna let people waft them around willy nilly for long?

Stuff like eros and EoW and pherlure- no one is gonna take that sort of stuff too seriously, its all still in the realms of mens mags scams for desperados but the stuff on this website is seriously advanced stuff, targeted and the breadth of the profound effects on people in the work place and business. Once the pharmacartel get a whiff of this they are going to want to shut down these operatinos, outlaw it and then produce the stuff themselves under patents like viagra and prozac.

I wonder just how comical it was to suggest a lower profile for the site. the stuff the androtics does is absolutely amazing and I dont want it to ever stop.

Im sorry for being such a cautious lawyer about this!! dont mean to put anyone on a downer but its just the world we live it. If your onto a good thing- dont let the big boys find out and take it from you!

Doodee

I have the exact same fear: what if everyone starts using them?

As far as the lawsuits go, I don’t think as of right now there are enough controlled scientific studies to convince a jury, so I really don’t see anyone winning a lawsuit of the “the pheromones made me do it” variety.

In ten years, though, who knows.

Well I can easily see this happening, it’s in magazines, all over the internet, some people even talk about it over the radio, only a matter of time before just about everyone who believes that pheros work will be using them. Prices going up or becoming illegal altogether is a scary thought, but I don’t think pheros are powerful enough to become illegal, it’s not mind control, people go through with their reactions to pheros b/c they want to, not b/c they are forced to.

You’re probably right, doodee. From the perspective of a lawyer, that is particularly distressing.

However, I doubt (and I hope not) pheromones will become illegal. The worst that could probably happen is that they discredit pheromones altogether and we become touted a scam and a mere placebo effect. Like Karmiel said, pheromones aren’t total mind control. They merely help along the process of influence, by maybe giving a good vibe about someone.

Although I am wondering about the lawsuit. How could it possibly work?

In all honesty, I’d prefer pheromones become illegal any day over pheromones becoming massively popular.. Jasmin, do not succumb to the evil forces!

If everyone starts using them, people who do not use them will have a massive disadvantage. Or maybe people who do not use them will have a massive advantage? I haven’t quite figured that out yet.

I look at it this way, We got a big head start on the rest of them so we will come out ahead

Besides pheromones have been around since the sixties. There will always be those who believe its just a scam. Frankly I love those people lol. More for me

Well, I am not an attorney, but I think there is a huge difference between wearing pheromones and pouring a mind altering pharmaceutical in somebody’s drink. As far as being sued over the use of pheromones, I think any such case could be ripped to shreds!

Let me get this right Mr/Mrs plaintiff - You’re claiming that my client wore some sort of cologne or pheromone that helped you make a conscious decision to have sex with him/her, is that correct? So, you already wanted to have sex with him/her, but weren’t entirely sure that was the right thing to do and you’re claiming that my client wore some sort of unproven voodoo chemical that induced you to make a conscious decision to copulate, is that about right? So Mr/Mrs plaintiff, just so I understand this correctly, are you saying that you were somehow hypnotized or mesmerized into engaging in sexual acts that you otherwise would not have? No more questions! Your Honor/Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, this matter would actually be funny if my client weren’t on trial. The plaintiff would have you believe that my client wore a cologne and that once the plaintiff got a smell of it, he/she was forced to engage in acts of sex with my client. This plaintiff is asking you to rule that their lack of moral character and poor judgment was a result of a smell, and that my client should be held liable. The plaintiff is asking you to believe that my clients cologne had the ability to remove his/her free will and forced him/her to do something that he/she didn’t want to do. Not only is this allegation absolutely ludicrous, but if there was a shred of truth to it, then the matter should have been brought as a criminal complaint, because it’s almost sounding as if they are alleging rape. Imagine that? a cologne that can eliminate free will. You cannot in good conscience believe that this plaintiff’s poor judgment and lack of morals are the fault of my client!

Pheromones are not pharmaceutical products, and probably never could be regulated as pharmaceuticals, as they are not mind altering and have no medicinal benefit.

As far as everyone finding out about pheromones and starting to use them, I am not terribly concerned about that either. Companies like Pherlure and the likes have tarnished the image of pheromones pretty badly and it will probably be many years before the image is repaired and they could go mainstream.

Just my thoughts, but I think it’s going to be a long time before we lose our phero edge.

I think it will be a few years but if sites like this start making a killing and get really popular, then the pharmacorp scouts will catch on and where there is money in science, the chemogiants will be in there.
Mones are not really fiction anymore… i think science is taking a while to catch up but this is hard science and whists the evidence we are all collating is officially ‘anecdotal’ this website is a R&D dream! Seriously, they will be on it like flies round s***.

Think on this: if lab science can identify compunds which work subliminally to produce repeatable mood altering effect on member of the opposite sex and peers, to increase sexual attractiveness and respect or uplift mood, and if these have the stamp of respectability of a massive brand name pharmaceutical company, what is Joe Bloggs on the street gonna do? Buy out. and there will be billions of dollars in it for sure.

I think androtics should get in touch with a patent attorny if they havent already and get their combos patented before anyone tries to! I dont know if in America you can patent chemicals that occur naturally in the body- even if sythetically made- in UK you cant but in America they patent naturally occuring gene sequences so maybe they can. If so i would get pAatents on TAA/H/F/L and the Ps and so on. when the cops then sit up and take notice anrotics can sell them licences to use the compunds for MILLIONS. And i wll have bought shares in Androtics by then ha ha ha!!!

And all this report information and feedback should be made private intellectual property and not in the public domain- it could be worth alot.

Jeez i am such a boring lawyer. I am actually boring myself. Just ignore me im gonna mix a manhattan up and come back later to talk about fun stuff.

Going to the snakepit now (work). :frowning:

Exactly. That’s what I envision happening in courtrooms as well–particularly because scientific evidence that these chemicals work beyond the placebo effect is pretty scant.

I think A1 has the most well-respected science behind it right now, and I can hardly envision a scenario where someone would sue over the effects of that stuff alone.

I recognize that everything we’re doing here is valid science, but in order to be admissable in a court of law I’d say it would have to be a peer-reviewed, nationally recognized study, and as of now very few of those exist.

Even if those type of studies did exist, I still think it would be a difficult case in court.

I don’t think it takes medical science to show that men generally find women dressed scantily more attractive than say a woman wearing a parka, or that women generally wear makeup to make themselves more attractive.

What’s next, John Doe sues Jane because when they met and he decided to sleep with her, he was drunk and she was wearing a mini skirt, tight top without a bra and had makeup on. But, when he woke up with her the next morning she didn’t look as good?

Or suing the car dealership because the salesman was wearing A314, Instant Shine and Instant Gentleman when you bought the car.

If this is where we are headed, then lets start suing authors of self-help books too.

Pheromones cannot force anybody to do anything. If someone does not find you attractive, pheromones will not change that. And if someone does not want to have sex, pheros will not change that either. Any Court case brought over pheromone usage would almost have to be considered frivolous and thrown out.

Would it really be so bad if added-on pheromones were more common? I can imagine everyone would be so much happier, sexier, more chilled… And if lawyers used them, then you can be sure both the defense and the prosecution (and prolly even the judge and jury!) would wear them. So it would all even out eventually and we’d get used to it.

I think it’d be fun to try it – and society would trend much more peaceful. Like ancient Minoan Crete or something. If I didn’t think other people should wear pheromones too, I wouldn’t be comfortable doing it myself, you know?

Well now Kitten, that depends. Lets all wear about 50mcg’s of Androstenone. I don’t think we’d have a happy society at all.

Or, if everybody was wearing say 50mcg’s of Androstadienone, I think the women would all be more peaceful, but the suicide rate among men would probably skyrocket. :frowning:

But spritz everybody with Androstenols and Androsterone and yea, we’ve probably get a bunch of happy campers.

Cool subject. I don’t think pheros will ever “go mainstream”. I’ve noticed that the percentage of people who get pheros to work for them is pretty low. Look at the membership role on this forum. Most people who take the time to register never even post to get their gift cert. Less than half of the remainder post anything beyond getting their gift cert. I realize that there are probably some androtics customers who use pheros regularly and never post but I’m betting there aren’t many. People like to brag about success and with something like this that may be somewhat sensitive, this forum is likely the only place they have to do their bragging. (l-s excepted)

Attraction is the “killer app” of pheromones. Everyone here knows that there is much much more to attraction than pheros. It may be that cologne makers will adopt pheromones into their products on a much wider scale than they have done so far but even that is probably not likely in the near term. Pheros take too much individual tuning to make them a mass appeal item. Maybe there will someday be a mix that instantly makes everyone more attractive to everyone else. I’m betting not. Attraction by it’s very nature requires individuality. Joe Bloggs is never gonna do what it takes to make the sort of results we have here common. I think most of the folks who end up using pheros regularly probably had Joe Bloggs whipped from the get go.

Tater intends to master pheromones and take over the world before any of this matters. Dont worry your little heads. Taters got it all under control…

Well at least we’d have a very happy Kitten. Guess I was imagining everyone using gender- and sitch- appropriate pheromones. But that might be a bit much to ask.

Renny, I wonder about all those newbies too. Do they order anything? Do they try it? Reorder? Where do they go? What do they do?

Not if I beat you to it, sugar

Since humans naturally produce at least a small amount of pheromones on their own, unless a new law comes to pass where everyone must mask their body odour, I doubt synthetic hormones will be made illegal, although I know a couple of folks who should be forced by the law to use deodorant. :open_mouth:

Moreover, since pheromones do not work for everybody, a percentage of the available population falls away. Some people will not wear scented pheromones because they do not like the smell, and some are allergic to perfumes, and thus, cannot wear scented pheromone products, either. Ultimately, pheromones only serve as a boost for a person, so if both you and a colleague are up for a promotion, and both wear the same pheromones, it does not necessarily mean the co-worker will be viewed as the best candidate for a position, even with the influence of pheromones. I think the real danger of pheromones will start when someone invents a sure-fire Love Potion No. 9 that will make people instantly fall in love with you, willingly or not.

Well you dont need to have an “edge” on anything really, if everyone starts using it and using it well no big deal, since the only time it’s really going to be important is when it’s used on one individual.

But I doubt anything like this will happen anytime soon, since a lot of people still don’t even know what pheromones are. Even if it did happen, EVERYONE would never use them. EVERYONE doesn’t even have a phone or a computer or a TV, but to be a bit less literal, everyone doesn’t have an iPod or MP3 Player either.
