Other forum members award you reps when your post is valuable to them or they just enjoy it.
So the best way to get some is by posting 
Oh and to award points you just click on the little blue number under “Reputation” on the left, under the persons name and a box will pop up and you can award or take away points.

To get the reputation points are somesort like gaining ‘respect’ or acknowledgement because it is given by others to us based on our contributions, knowledge sharing, efforts taken towards some issues and etc. Like Tisha mentioned above, you have to participate and post in the forum. Anyway, here are some reps for you.
