My User Name Says It All

He folks, I’m Chris, and I am a family doctor in a rural community. Lately I’ve had a few inquiries from patients about pheromones, and have had nothing solid to tell them. Published reports are a little short in supply, and not necessarily scientific, so I thought I’d check out the discussions here to see what you people’s personal experience has been. I also am a little curious as to the source of the ingredients (phytohormones?totally synthetic?animal glands?). It is unlikely that a happily married man like myself will be using the pheromones personally, but if other members are old married guys (or their wives) who have noticed a new spark in the bedroom, I may be compelled to give it a try.

hi welcome to the forum,

im a medical student myself and i actually got involved after we learned about it in school. i understand that it is synthetic although im not sure what exactly the sources come from. im sure other ppl can answer it more.

you should def. look into trying a couple of pheros it does help put some spart in the bedroom even if you are happily married!

Hi INeedTruth,
Welcome to the forum

If you want some scientific and objective articles and discussions, take a look at Pheromone Theory](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/pheromone-theory/) & Studies & Abstract](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/studies-abstracts/) sections.

I recommend you giving a try to pheromones. They are not necessarily to attraction or relationship enhancing, see Mens Pheromone guide to learn more about the different products.

If you have some questions, just ask

Have fun

I know that they’re all made in labs in the U.S.
All synthetic, and not sourced from animals or humans.
At least, Androtics stuff is. Some other manufacturers use less reputable sources.

Since you made a post, you’ll get a gift cert, so you may want to try a to-go size or two and see for yourself.

Not all of them are for attraction, many of the products here are great for everyday social interaction. You might be surprised at how much these things can make minor interactions better.

For instance, the main ingredient in instant shine just makes people much more smiley and friendly, and in today’s world, sometimes that makes all the difference.

Hi Chris, there is plenty of info to read in the Studies section, as has been mentioned. Using 3 sprays (this is based upon your age, I’m assuming your wife to be in the same ballpark) of Turn Up the Heat to your chest on a night when you suspect you’re about to get lucky should convince you.

As marty points out, these products are not just about sexual attraction, though many use them for that reason. This is why when a newbie posts in the Intro section, we ask what are they planning to do with pheromones. These products can enhance social status, improve business interactions and lubricate your love life. All of the people who post here are actual customers, we’re not robots or paid to push AD products.

Good luck and enjoy your stay here…

Thanks for your prompt replies. I’ll just quickly say before dashing off to the office that I’ll be intrigued by further posts from the med student remmy, and any other current or future physicians. We have a rather strict code of ethics, and I need to be sure that anything I do or say in the patient-doctor relationship is totally honest and above board.
At the very least I’ve learned after years of practice that we North Americans are way too Clean, having somehow incorrectly equated the smell of soap with good health and happiness. I myself only bathe once a week, unless I get especially dirty. Clean clothes are a must, and everyone rightly expects meticulously clean hands and face, but the naturally present oils and microbes on the rest of my skin (including armpits) have not been offensive. However, I cannot convince patients that they do not really need one or two showers a day as a matter of routine.
Do any female posters find it manipulative to know that men–including possibly those of shallow character–are trying to attract your favors with pheromones? Wearing an sexual attractant does not suddenly turn a real male jerk into Mr. Wonderful, does it?
As a male I would find no offense at all to think that females might be using attractant pheromones in my presence, in fact I find the thought slightly flattering, even though I am a committed monogamist, but it occurs to me that women users might be opening themselves up to potential victimizing. Just asking your opinions.
I spend a lot of time dealing with bad news, informing patients of a poor prognosis, denying their requests for drugs or disability paperwork, etc, and things can get tense. I am described by nurses and most patients as someone with excellent bedside manner, but one wonders whether pheromone use might enhance my ability to convey bad news in an even more empathic manner.
The most relevant question for my practice, and my own marriage perhaps, is whether peri-or post-menopausal women have benefited sexually from the use of pheromones (either on themselves or their husbands). Since these dear ladies already have very high circulating levels of LH and FSH, can sexual attractant pheromones really improve their sexual experience?
Thanks for all your input.
Chris

Chris, you must have pheromones confused with hypnosis or Bosshank’s Mind Control™ ray gun that we rarely talk about in public anymore.

I’m only going to reply to a couple of your comments:

It’s quite likely that there are shallow people using the very same toothpaste that you use (this is assuming you brush your teeth once a week ), should you stop using the toothpaste?

Women use pheromones for all kinds of reasons, but because a lady is wearing them in your presence does not mean she’s particularly seeking your attention in a sexual way, as you’ve seemed to imply in your post. There are many other possibilities. For instance, she may be wearing pheromones because she feels you charge too much and she seeks a 99% discount on her bill. Or, maybe she’s wearing Instant Shine to give herself more confidence. It’s not always about sex.

This forum is loaded with ancedotal evidence (and as mentioned previously, scientific abstracts as well), use the search function for specifics and you may also wish to preuse the Women’s section. I highly suggest you do more reading if you’re really interested on this subject. The time spent should serve you well, because at the moment, you appear to have a lot of misconceptions of the capabilities and usage of pheromones (I feel.)

Read my signature-- they are not magic.

Good luck…

Robbie, That ray gun sounds great, where can I get one?

Well, I have only been a member here for less than a day, so please everyone be patient with my questions. I really am very highly motivated to abolish faulty misconceptions.

I just finished reading Bosshank’s thread for married guys, and it seems pretty insightful.

Somebody put a comment there regarding the pharmaceutical industry simply treating symptoms rather than causes. While that may be true, what assurance does one have that the pheromone vendors are at least as ethical?

I’ll keep reading these threads before placing an order.

Have a great day, everyone!

Argh! I mentioned the ray gun again… Er, what ray gun?

No worries. No one will rush you to buy anything here.

I was hoping you’d read that one!

FYI, there is a difference between being genuinely curious and trolling. I mean seriously, what are you expecting people to say in responce to this?

There’s no assurance they can make that will convince you believe them if you deem them unethical to begin with. If you believe they lie about adding molecules, how easy is it to assume they lie about their ethics? They offer a full money-back guarantee, if you feel their products fail you. They don’t expect you to simply take them at their word.

Good luck…

Hello Chris, Welcome to Pherotalk

Its normal to be skeptical even as a Doctor. There is research being done everyday by Universities and Doctors, on the effects of pheromones on human behavior. Yes there is still alot of research to be done but the same can be said for medicine. Be sure to look down in the studies and abstracts area of the forum. There are plenty of studies listed conducted by scientists, doctors and universities which should interest you and help you decide what you would want to say to your patients.

All pheromones made or used by Androtics Research are synthetic or plant musks. No animal pheromones have been used.

There are plenty of old married people here LOL pheromones are not just for getting laid anymore  They send all sorts of signals, Happiness, comfort, arousal, interest, connection, ect ect. It all depends on which pheromone or mix your using.

Nope if your a jerk you will still be a jerk after you spray them on. You will just be a jerk people feel compelled to talk to more.

I cant speak for females who dont use pheromones because they can go either way especially if they dont understand pheromones but I am not offended when a man wears them. pheromones will not make someone do something totally out of character or against their will. They influence and give you a edge but they dont change you. They are just a small part of socialization and attraction. Be sure to read “What pheromones can do and what they cant do” the link is in my signature below.

No more then usual, If someone is going to victimize another they will do so with or without pheromones present. Its a act of violence not a sexual act really. You cant go through life being afraid to be noticed because there are predators in the world. Much better to be prepared for when one strikes.

Yes I believe from experience that they can. If they add just a little bit more comfort to someone you have to deliver bad news to they are worth every penny you spend on them.

Depends on the pheromone your using. I am not a doctor so I dont have any ideal what LH and FSH are so I will tell you what we do know.

Instant Female Magic or Androstadienone is great for women with PMS, Alot of the women here swear by it. Calms, makes them happy comfy and content. I have seen this work on those who have no ideal what a pheromone is and its simply amazing.

Copulin products help peri or post menopausal women a bit with feeling more sexual and feminine again. You probably know this but copulins are the vaginal secretions of young fertile females. Synthetic of course although steveO volunteered to collect them by hand :stuck_out_tongue: LOL Sorry a little pheromone humor there.

Anyways when men are exposed to copulins there Testosterone spikes by 130% in about 10 to 15 minutes and they become aroused. Women also feel more sexy and thus more sexual. This has been medically proven by a few MD’s in testing. Google Astrid Jutte studies to read about that.

Androstenone arouses a women as well and there are some studies on that in the abstract section. However I am not menopausal yet and there needs to be more testing done in this area to see how much of a effect pheromones can have during this period of life. So far it looks good though.

Some of them are not ethical. I can tell you that Androtics Pheromone is the most ethical pheromone company you will find on the net or elsewhere and you can call me bias if you like but we have a forum filled with real live customers who will attest to the same. Not just some pre written testimonials.

We dont hype things up here. Women will not chase you down the street. Men will not leave there wives and gaze at you in wonder. There is no magic here. They increase socialization and interaction with others. They open doors but you still have to walk through that door.

We also touch on other subjects here from how to dress, body language and how to convey confidence to all the other aspects of socialization. We dont just hand you a bottle and say Cya thanks for your money.

You will find that it is like a family here hence some defensiveness LOL

Welcome again to our Pheromone Family

I am sending you a GC in case you decide you want to check the products out for yourself.

If you have more questions ask

Someone posted at another person’s intro that this forum is addictive, and that assessment is proving to be true. Good grief, I’ve spent at least four or five hours out of the past 36 here reading posts, following links, getting to know some of your online personalities, feeling like I’m learning something. Of course, I previously knew next to nothing about this topic other than some biochemical theory.

I think I’m about ready to try some products for myself. I guess the customer service people would be able to tell me if the ones I’ve selected would be likely to augment my personality and goals. I’m thinking possibly A314 for the work setting, Turn up the Heat for those occasional times when my 48 year-old endocrine system needs a little help to convey a strong sexual message to my wife, and Instant Female Magic for the predictable times when I need to exude a calming effect on my perimenopausal wife. I’m still wondering what might work best to allow people to relax around us in evening social settings.

There are a couple physiology questions that I could not find answers for in the Search. First, can a person who has lost much of his sense of smell due to a severe sinus infection still be affected by pheromones? Maybe they would experience an improved quality of life with regular enhancement of their own natural compounds. And similarly, if a patient has had nasal septum correction surgery or a radical cosmetic nose job, thus possibly damaging their Vomeronasal Organ, will they lose their sensitivity to pheromones?

I’m beginning to find this topic extremely fascinating!

Hello

Glad your getting familiar with everything.

Turn Up The Heat, Instant Female Magic and A314 are great to start with. I do suggest some Instant Shine for those social gatherings. Its great, upbeat, warm, charismatic, fun, it makes everyone feel great.

Depends on how much damage is in the nasal canal. The pheromone molecules need to travel to the brain to reach the Neurotransmitters for a reaction to occur.

The VNO organ is still highly debated in the scientific community. It exists but many feel it doesn’t work the same as in animals. Some scientists believe the molecules travel directly to the Neurotransmitters in humans.

A person who has a damaged nasal passage could have trouble inhaling the molecules and the only way to truly know is to test them out on someone with damage. They may have no trouble or be able to have partial reactions.

This would be a area that more testing is needed before a concrete answer could be given.

Tisha

Well then, I’ll have to put an order in and report back to forum. Maybe tomorrow, it’s been a long, long day.
G’night, people.

Looks like I’ll have to wait till A314 is back in stock. Guess I should’ve ordered right away.
Bummer.

Okay, I’ve put in my first order, and have taken folks’ advice about a variety of ToGo sprays and A314. I’ll start a new thread to report the results.
I guess I should change my username to UNeedTruth if I’m sharing my actual experiences.
