over-identification with sex

if your telling a friend about the pheromones you use, to your friend ,its usually overly identified with sex alone. im not saying sex isnt the biggest player in sales, but for me it wasnt; i was bartending at the time and had spent many years identifying factor X in charismatic people. anyone who thinks it purely a “hotness” issue, is mistaken.
anyway, im looking for other people’s experience with educating a friend on the use of these valuable tools, pheromones ability to perform in business and in other areas of life are very understated.
anyone have experience here?

I rarely ever tell anyone about mones. I’ve tested the waters with some people, and most have a really misguided perception at what the function of pheromones are, how they work, how it can affect one’s behavior, etc. Most people flat out don’t know what they are, and are unwilling to accept that theres any validity in it. Most think the fact that sweat can be an aphrodisiac is “gross”. It would take a highly open minded and educated individual to be capable and willing to accept a realistic view of pheromone use. Even the mainstream scientific data on pheromones badly misprepresents the role they play in human socialization, so you really can’t blame people for their misconceptions.

Best bet I think, would be to lead them to a forum like this one or LS…or let them try a product or two.

Same here. Noone of my acquaintance knows I use them, and that is how it is going to stay.

I do define cops though, as the one 'mone I find ONLY sexual and not in the least business or social-orientated.

As I have said before, I will NEVER again wear cops unless I am either one on one with “The Man,” or at a club or gathering WITH him, as even his best friend who has known me for years and years was affected when I was wearing cops a week or so ago - much to The Man’s total confusion and anger.

Yeah…that was pretty damn awkward actually.. >_<

The only person who knows that I use mones is my PP, but I don’t tell her if I decide to use them on any given day. I don’t think it would matter since, although she’s heard of them, she really doesn’t have any idea what they are or do…doubt that she cares either. She’s been exposed to a variety of mones and after about 1.5 yrs I can gauge a product based on her reactions. It gives me an idea of what others may be experiencing, as well, even if they may not be at all obvious. I think it helps me to determine if something is a hit or not…it gives me a frame of reference. Having a consistant/familiar test subject is invaluable when testing new mixes. If something shows potential, I’ll test it on others.

i don’t tell anyone of my 'mone experimentation either. the only knowledge most outsiders have of them is what they see in the traditional ads that market them as a tool to help you get laid. if you were to try and explain the social aspects of 'mone use, most would perceive you the same as if you said you read playboy for the articles.

Ummm… so what you’re really saying here is nobody else actually reads those articles?

lol. looking back, i guess i read some of the articles. i fondly remember that is how i learned what the word ‘orgasm’ meant.

I learned my female anatomy from Playboy.

uh why is it every thread i start in earnest ends up with playboy (or something similar) … ?
honestly, i meet more people who dont know what a pheromone is than those who identify it with sex, but that still happens with the few who know what they are. i also think its to everyone who uses’ advantage to be the only one using, and im experimenting locally with seeing where the idea of using pheromones will go, if it even does.

I keep mone use to myself not necessarily to keep the advantage to myself, but because a negative misinterpretation of my using them can be personally damaging…and in my town, networks run deep, and people talk. There’s a potential that people will see you as taking advantage of others…some may actually be offended by the fact that I’ve worn mones around them. People may question the legitimacy of the interactions I’ve had…especially someone I’ve gotten intimately involved with (ie questioning if one’s attraction to me was simply manipulated by mones)

I’ve mentioned pheromone use to friends indirectly before (not admitting I used them…mentioning only that I heard people do), mostly to those who I know are educated enough to understand their effects. Most of them, however, think that its unethical for one to use mones at all. They overestimate the effects of mones, and underestimate the complexity of the human psyche.

Once you really get into pheromone use, and really start to understand the nuances of their effects, you really get to understand the role of pheromones as “enhancers of perception and mood” rather than “influencers of behavior”. The connotation of the latter effect is far more negative, and really does raise some ethical questions. Personal experience will teach you that pheromones work on far more subtle levels, and really won’t allow you to ''take advantage" of anyone against their will.

Incidentally, I keep a log of my experiences with mones, along with an extensive description of pheromones themselves, which I update periodically. I keep it not for myself ( I did initially but got lazy), but to pass on to somebody who I think could really benefit one day. Everythings documented thoroughly enough ithat someone I know would (hopefully) build realistic expectations and methods of approaching pheromone use.

Lor, what gives? You said sex - you started it! lol

I have found that people seem to be very afraid of pheromones in my experience. My mother is terrified of having them put on her… so is one of my friends, a guy. I think they get the idea that all pheromones stink. Smell one that they don’t like (IFM for mom, wet EW cops for my friend) and they think all of them stink.

But my mother seems stuck on the idea that “only losers use pheromones”. This comes from her rigid thinking and her insistence that pheromones are always for sexual perverts. (She worked in a maximum security men’s prison for 25 years, and has concluded that men are all perverts and liars. lol) After all, she never heard what I say about the social aspects because she “read they were for sex”. And any man who wants sex and can’t get it by being good to a woman, who has to resort to using those evil pheromones, must be a pervy loser. Must be nice living in a world where things are always black and white.

So we still have a long way to go before pheromone useage goes mainstream.

sorry, i guess you just ask the right questions.

Don’t apologize, she’s just giving you a hard time for being a male.

Noser, I’m with cat on this - don’t apologize. I mean really Lor,what did you expect when you used the word “sex”? Through the eyes of a man, THIS is what you wrote…

So as catlord said - you started it.

mybad.
i am sooo sorry.
in retrospect i see how everything i ever write is sex related.
i am going to get help now. therapy. and add atleast 8 cold showers to my day. thank you, gabe, for helping me to see that i have a problem that needs adressing. hopefully i will return a new gal.

See, you can’t help yourself.

Seriously, though, this is a good question. Myself? I wouldn’t know where to begin, because I’m not that experienced with them. Maybe you could start the conversation with your bartending observations of “Factor X” in charismatic people?

Guys, don’t let this thread die because I’ve been harassing Lor here - somebody with more experience, please step up…

What the hell is factor X

so, not sex, not necessarily sex, cross that one off, but a factor of quality ? If a person has a lot of Factor X, that makes you want to ___________________ . Intelligence ? Converstional skill ? Ability to pick good clothing ? Empathy ? Good genes ? A combination of the above ?

I AM Factor X.

Sorry, My bad… won’t happen again…

For me, intelligence and GSOH score WAY above looks every time.

If the packaging looks pretty it’s nice for a while, but if you unwrap the package and find the contents to be sadly lacking in substance, interest soon dies.
