I’m against an official chatroom too.. for the reasons others have mentioned too.
As much as I love chatting, I don’t think it would be good for research purposes. It would be good for socialising, tho. I voted no because I think that the forum format is good because it helps to be able to search older information.
Androtics is currently looking for a chat platform that would take all chat posts and archive them to the forum as a thread.
Many platforms already archive the chats to your hard drive, but not what I have been looking for.
Than of course besides the point of SPAM bots taking it over like other chat rooms.
I imagine moderation for a chat room could be a nightmare. On the forums you have safety measures that protect the forum from spam. I can’t imagine the type of spam you’d get when the forum boasts over 11k members. -_-
