Problem with Dropper

Is anyone else having this problem? I’m not getting consistent drops from my bottle of A314. The drop starts to come out, then seems to get sucked back up into the dropper via capillary action. When something does finally come out of the bottle, it’s a triple or quadruple drop.

I’ve tried storing the bottle in the refrigerator, thinking perhaps the product is too warm, but that doesn’t seem to help. I’ve already returned one bottle because I thought the dropper was just defective, but then I started getting the same result with my next bottle. I’ve been using the product for years and only started having this experience in the past few months with Rev 32.

Did Androtics start getting their bottles from a new manufacturer? Is anyone else having this problem?

Its not a new problem.

Mobocaster, you bloody genius! I never would have noticed that vent in a million years. I can’t thank you enough!

Mobocaster, you brilliant tarantula. Thanks for the tip. I just learned something new!

Smellboy, if adjusting and dropper to accommodate the vent doesn’t work for you, please post back here, and mention your batch/lot IDs on the bottom sticker of the bottle. We can x-reference these to known reports and see if we can provide any more info or help fit you with a different bottle.

Thanks, Brian. Mobocaster’s advice seems to have helped somewhat, but this morning I fell victim to another mega-drop.

If I’m reading the bottle correctly, it’s Batch 3B12721K, Lot 9I050006N.

I did just order another bottle, so I’ll see whether I have the same problem with the next one.

Thanks. I’ll stay tuned. If you sent back your dropper from 9I05006N, we’ll play around with it and troubleshoot what may have went wrong.

Did you clean out the rebate and rim on the dropper with the corner of a bit of tissue? Removing any stray fluid is also important as it avoids it getting sucked back into the vent.

Also is the bottle still pretty full - I’ve always found dropping problems worst when starting a bottle or just before it runs out but yes, you can still get the occasional big drop - that’s where fate plays its part!

I’ve only had a couple megadrop mishaps on my ye olde vintage of a314.
I like to pour the drop onto my pinky nail then apply to neck and ears.

Now that I’ve reached some sort of resolution around this issue, I thought I’d pass it along to everyone else. I recently received a new bottle of A314 and found I was having the same “mega drop” problem.

Following Mobocaster’s advice, I used a pair of pliers to turn the dropper so that the vent was on the opposite side of the bottle from the label. I then tried tipping the bottle with the label facing down. This only exacerbated the problem; with a full bottle, the liquid practically poured out. So then I tried the opposite, tipping the bottle with the label up and the vent down. I stood there for several very long moments and nothing came out.

Finally, I tried the ninety degree position, tipping the bottle with the label facing towards me and the vent facing away from me–at half-mast, so to speak. The result? Perfect drops, every time.

Big thanks again to Mobocaster for pointing out the existence of that little vent, which I never would have discovered on my own.
