A couple of times I have recieved 1 mega drop from my A314 bottle, probably about 2 or 3 drops worth in 1. I always use the same technique; tip the bottle upside down, wait for the drop with my finger underneath, then quickly tip the bottle back upright. I have noticed temperature seems to alter the rate of the drop appearing.
In the spirit of ‘waste not, want not’ I have slapped on whatever comes out of the bottle. First time I had only been using 1 drop, and the megadrop did generate some negative effects on my employees, I felt I was putting out a bit of a scary vibe.
This last week I have been testing 2 drops. Yesterday my 2nd drop came out as a mega-drop, so I’m wearing about 4 drops (well buffered with IS & IH) At work people are used to my A314 signature now, so I managed to carry it off more easily than before, although I did catch myself giving someone a bollocking (telling off) where I really wouldn’t have normally.
Is this mega drop a common phenomenon, have I got a dodgy dropper or is my tipping technique wrong?
I get it once in a while, but it doesn’t happen often.
When it does, I think you’re better off wiping the excess amount off with paper or applying it where diffusion will be somewhat hindered, like on your chest (assuming you’ll be wearing a shirt), then it may do some good.
Too much product on you is a double loss. The extra drop is wasted anyway but if you OD, your day is gonna be pretty much ruined as well.
Yes, this does happen occasionally - IME mostly with a new bottle or when you are nearly finished. Sometimes I take it as fate’s way of telling me I need a lot more status that day!
One thing that will help a lot is to ensure that the air-pipe in the dropper is clear of any fluid when you drop. If It is covered, I think the pressure differential in the bottle becomes unbalanced and that affects the drop size - It is far at its worst on warm days IME.
So try looking into the recess round the edge of the dropper and asw well doing what Meisen siggests and keeping it clear of stray fluid, also find the end of the vent - a little rectangular hole and turn the whole dropper to a position that will keep the bottle end at the highest point when dropping. I do this whenever I open a new bottle and turn to place it directly opposite the label, so I always drop with the label facing down - hold it just off the vertical when you drop, the angle required does get steeper as the bottle goes down though. That sorts it best of all.
This will also apply to other phero makes that use a similar density oil and the same style of dropper - Alpha 7 springs to mind but although the NPA dropper is similar, I seriously doubt that it will do much for accuracy due to its far more fluid alcohol base.
I think Alpha 7 is oil base, but more fluid than A314 indeed. Sometimes it just dribbles out so that I get like 3-4 drops worth at once. That’s a massive waste of product, because I certainly can’t apply that much.
NPA and WAGG are even worse and those are in alcohol base.
I misread your earlier post, mobo and thought you said Alpha 7 is alc. base, which you obviously didn’t.
Btw, I used A314 with Alpha 7 again in the weekend, it had been a long time since but that combo is good!
I added WAGG though. It’s also a good product, a bit expensive but a bottle lasts long since you only need a couple of drops.
