Man, so many good posts and suggestions! Thanks everybody - gonna try some of them. Starting with some sports - in the evening because I already have trouble getting out of bed early enough to be at work before the lunch break…
Aaand I’m pretty positive that working out in the morning doesn’t help fat burning more than working out in the evening - cause after all it’s only about energy input versus energy output.
You’re welcome!
In the morning, I throw a scoop or two of ribose into 1 to 3 tsps of Blast smart drink. Blend it all up. I open and throw in a probiotic capsule, too, at low speed. The probiotics love the small amount of carbs in the dark.
I take this with a single tablet of Alive! multivitamin w/iron, usually, but sometimes I switch up multis.
Then I take a 1 normal B pill on most days, maybe an extra l-phenylalanine pill.
I take 1 Male Fuel on days when I need extra “male energy”. More focus, drive, edginess. This works crazy good. Try it!
The coenzyme B I save for days when I need an extra big kick in the butt. This form of B vitamin bypasses the liver’s conversion process so it REALLY hit you hard and fast. I just take 1 pill of this, too. 2 is far too much for me.
At night, I’ve started to take around 500mg of Anjinomoto tryptophan, to help keep a more balanced head and reduce stress. This is a great new addition that’s been helping a lot! I take that along with about a gram of choline, to improve sleep that night, and focus the next day.
I don’t take the same doses of anything each day. I’ll skip some nutrients some days and do something else on some days. I learned that varying dosage keeps the body on it’s toes, so it basically “appreciates” the nutrition more. The advanced nutrient people call that “cycling”.
‘Male Fuel’?? Always thought this would be women… ![]()
Gonna buy a good B-Complex tomorrow and if I’m not mistaken I still got a package of Phenylalanine lying around somewhere. But I remember my stomach didn’t like these pills too much unfortunately…
Thank you Jasmin for all the info…I’m definitely going to try some (or all
) of it!!
Take your b-complex with plenty of water, (8-20 oz) as your pee will become bright yellow… ![]()
Yes and no, there are many factors having to do with how much fat your are burning. I’m not a health specialist, but working out in the morning forces your body to pull energy from your reserves (whether that be your carb/fat/protein reserves depends on what you’re doing and what your body is storing.)
In the morning, since you don’t have any food in your stomach, your body will burn your carb stores first, followed by fat, and lastly by protein. I’m certain that depending on the work you do, different stores of energy will be needed.
So, it’s not so much that working out in the morning depletes your fat reserves, it just depletes your energy reserves as a whole, rather than from the energy in your food. Which energy reserve your body draw from is dependent on the type of exercise you are doing.
If it is high intensity then you will likely be pulling from your carb reserves, if it is low intensity, then you will likely be pulling from your fat reserves.
While it is true that as far as the physics go, the caloric cost (as well as the amount of work you are doing) will be the same whether you do the work in the morning or at night, however, the fuel used to provide the word will depend on what work you are doing, the state of your energy/reserves.
It would be more accurate to say that if you exercise with an empty stomach, you will ‘burn more reserve energy’. However, since most people eat throughout the day, by the time you get to the gym after work, you will already have consumed two meals, possibly 3 if you go after dinner. That is all energy that you have gained and possibly used. Anything that is left over goes to your work out first. Once that energy is used up, then your reserves are tapped into. So, if your goal is to remove your fat reserves, then doing a low intensity, high duration workout before eating will work best. Usually, that means working out in the morning.
So you could work out in the morning, and still not be burning fat, since you are using mostly carbs. You could work out at night and burn more fat than in the morning because you are doing the appropriate exercise. It’s never just one factor, and while the time of the day isn’t a direct factor, the factor that is important is the amount of ‘energy’ you have eaten prior to working out.
Keep in mind your body burns more calories as you are up and active as your metabolism is already kick started for the day. Working out in the morning vs the evening can burn up to an extra 300 calories a day. more if you take the little steps to burn more, Stretching every 45 min to an hour keeps your muscles working and loose. then add walking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking in the back of the parking lot and walking in to the store instead of parking right in front.
If you have a fairly sedatary job (sitting at a desk or computer terminal) getting up and jogging in place, a few jumping jacks, or other task to get your blood pumping regularly can burn a few more calories a day.
Working out in the morning helps your body jump into shape for the day, where as working out in the evening then flopping on the couch, your body will start converting anything you ate into reserves.
WOW… lots of good posts haha. phya and woofie are spot on IMO… Not much more can be said regarding working out in the morning. I guess to put it in lamens terms… look at it this way…
You wake up… eat a full breakfast and then go work out… your body is going to burn what you just ate as fuel. Kind of like stoking a fire… adding a ton of wood and then blowing a ton of air on it… your going to burn all the wood you just pout into it faster.
Now lets say you woke up and decided to go for a 45 minute jog - then eat after that. Since you have nothing in your stomach to burn… you are forcing your body to use your reserves for fuel. It will need to get its energy from within. If you follow that workout with a high protein meal like egg whites - you will have burnt carbs and fats without replacing them
Ofcoarse you can eat oatmeal and egg whites and you’ll have a well rounded breakfast - low calories… extremily low fats. The oatmeal is great for prolonged energy also.
I’m not saying anyone SHOULD workout in the morning… OR that you’re not being productive by working out in the afternoon as apposed to the morning. Being active is the main goal. No one here is training for a body building competition… I don’t wake up in the morning to go for a run… it’s simply a suggestion for people that want to take that route. It IS beneficial… but by no means the ONLY way to lose fat. My lunch is around 12:00 noon… then I have a protein shake around 3:00pm… this allows me a good hearty meal at noon… and I have 5 hours between my meal and my workout. The protein shake helps keep my metabolism going inbetween…
I’ve already gone on A LOT LONGER than I planned LOL… you guys have a good night! LOL

if you flip forum style sheets to pherotalk 2.0 (drop box in the lower right hand corner, all the way down at the bottom of this page)
it was bosshank on the first page,
Women’s products usually have plant estrogens, which don’t help with focus or energy at all. Estrogen makes both men and women gain weight and space out. It’s testosterone that makes both men and women focused and driven.
That’s why just a littlest, tiniest bit of Male Fuel is such a focusing agent… even for little ol’ me.
Women’s health products… bleh… I’ve tried many of them, and I don’t have a lot of positive experiences to report.
Some of the poorly women’s products can even damage our health, since MANY are soy based.
Welcome to Soy Online Service
Why Soy Can Damage Your Health
Guess what I found in the closet - two bottles full of Phenylalanine and Tyrosine. Didn’t even know I had bought them…
Took 1 gram of both. And additionally placed a little dab of TUTH under my nose.
Strange enough, I indeed feel more energized today - and heated up…
My metabolism seems to be in higher gear today. Hmm, not sure if it’s the amino acids or the androstenone, but something of this seems to work… ![]()
I’ve bought some Tongkat Ali which should arrive soon - this will take the place of Yohimbe as it should raise Testosterone, too, but in a more natural way than Yohimbe…
Well it must work cause I hear no one can keep up with Jasmin she is full of energy. ![]()
Oh now here is a good social group that can be started when the forum is all set and the dust settles.
Then Jasmin can teach all of us ladies about what we should be taking for suppliments and such. Oh alright the guys to LOL
I am pissed about the soy thing, I cant keep up first they say its good then they say its not. ![]()
Tish
From what I understand from reading Michael’s posts is that a Soy Male is very easy to pick out of the crowd as Beta, but I’ll let you read Michael’s post: "Beer dudes", "fat tires", plant estrogens and friendly guys
I’m game for that idea!
That would be in your and Jasmin’s “spare” time, right??? ![]()
Freaked me out when my urine turned neon yellow when I started taking high quality Multi’s (GNC Megamen… not the best around but they are decent)
Yeah, taking water-soluble vitamins such as B’s and C’s as well as multi-vitamins you need to make sure you are getting plenty of fluids, around a gallon of water a day. If you are working out you should avoid the sodas, as they are nothing more than liquid carbon dioxide, which you are trying to get rid of when recovering from a workout.
Did it glow in the dark?

BTW, I’ve read a loooot of good things about Rhodiola today at work (so great if you don’t have too much to do
) so I ordered a bottle of this stuff, too. Sounds like some sort of miracle herb: more energy, better mood, anxiety relief, more concentration and faster thinking. Sounds like something I have to try! ![]()
I took two of those pills and chewed them up LOL - great stuff! I love it… I can’t swallow pills BTW - thats why i chewed em up - plus it hits you faster LOL

Not sure, I never have a blacklight in the bathroom…
