The stomach has a specific receptor for absorption of B12, called IF (Intrinsic Factor or cubulin) that is easily destroyed by drinking alcohol. If you don’t binge drink, normal absorption of B12 is not a problem. If you drink heavily or are alcoholic, B12 injections are the only way to get the vitamin. Even with moderate, but daily alcohol consumption IF is destroyed in the stomach. Not being a drinker, but only binge drinking occassionally will destroy IF. It takes weeks to recover the lost IF after a binge.
B12 is a necessary component for red cell and other bone marrow cell production, which is why anemia is also a problem with drinkers. B12 is not destroyed by stomach acid.
Natural consumption of B12 comes from eating red meat. Kale is a good plant source of B12 I’ve been told. (I hate kale.)
definitely try tongkat ali. i live pretty close to the source and wouldn’t want to go a day without it. actually, i wouldn’t want to go a night without it either.
I’ve tried Tongkat Ali for some weeks but wasn’t too impressed by it.
The one thing that really stood out was definitely a good workout - no pill or powder that I tried even came near the energizing effects some weight lifting and cardio have…
a couple of things, first, what tongkat ali product did you try, where did it come from, what was the extract strength and were there any other additives in it? i get mine in sumatra, straight from the source and the effect it has had on me and the others here who have tried it is undeniable.
second, you are absolutely correct, a good workout for a man will increase your testosterone (while i think decreasing “free” testosterone) levels, giving you more energy in the mid to long term. some people, due to complete inactivity, alcohol/cigarettes/lack of sleep etc will notice if they have blood work done that they have very little “free” testosterone.
tongkat ali has definitely elevated my day to day mood, increased energy and certainly increased my lean muscle mass. combine all that with a regular workout and i’m looking better at 39 than i was at 29.
I don’t want to give out any bad advice here, but EC stack is pretty good. I know that some are against it, but keep in mind that you no doubt have to be careful with the dosages and not get to pill happy and just pop the pills without knowledge on how to take it. Other than that, sugar free energy drinks work great for me personally, but since I’m Hypothyroid I sometimes have to take slight stronger stuff besides also making sure my TSH and T4 levels are at the normal range.
Another tip is first taking a break from caffeine if you don’t really get a strong enough boost from caffeine. You should probably give your receptors a break from caffeine, then when you do come back to it it’ll hit you a little bit stronger. That’s the only problem, is that we get used to one thing to easily/fast. Breaks are always good anyway, so while on a break what everyone else suggested is very good. Yohimbe especially, just be careful with the way you take that too.
i’ve used an ECA stack before… very effective pre-workout. Thats the only time i would use it tho. I too think it’s safe if taken properly and not abused.
When I was super man and worked out daily instead of bi-annually I used ECA stack as well. I could only use it pre-workout though, or the ephedrine would really screw with me. I worked out where I would shake anyway, but with the ephedrine I felt like I was super whacked.
I’m looking for a personal trainer and wondering what you think about all that. Hazard you mentioned you’d be willing to help. Looking for a good starting routine like 5 days a week. I’m seriously need to get something going. My health could be much better and now is the time. PM me if you would
