Thanks for sharing that! ![]()
I’ve read some ‘studies’ that ‘show’ the effects of Mones as all mental, no olfactory ability in humans to detect them. THen, other researchers say otherwise, that VN1R is alive and kickin’…
My personal experience taints my objectivity, obviously. I do like me some Dior!
Though, I believe that the particular cologne/aftershave Eau Sauvage, is not what it used to be, though, memory of scents can be shaky after many years. The new version, modern, I guess is a bit too heavy on the citrusy side, like Neroli on AD, than previously.
Now, I may have to go out and try it NOW that you bring it up to see if it brings back an ‘accurate’ memory that I have of this scent!
Oh… and obviously see if the gals get hot and bothered! ![]()

Eau Sauvage has long been my go-to cologne, especially for covering NPA.
I’m still using a miniature from circa 2000 so can’t comment on changes in composition over time.
I’ve read the more detailed press release in german. The findings confirm that VN1R1 is activated by Hedion. The research-group now concentrates on identifying which physiological and psychological parameters are influenced, and how, by hedion, the professor stated. Moreover they are looking for body secretions and odours that ressemble hedion to find proof that humans in fact communicate pheromonically.
Well, we are way ahead of the research-community in this field I’d say ![]()
Did they say exactly which formula they used? Eau Sauvage has gone through a few revamps over the years but periodically they do let a batch of “original” or “classic-70s” formula slip out at a slight premimum.
No idea. I’m just going to buy Hedione, I’ve noticed a few perfumer sites sell it reasonably cheap. No idea how well it will work alone and with other products, but for only a few pounds per 15ml it’s well worth the test.
Sweet discussion man, the link mentioned my favorite actor Steve McQueen. I was unaware of Hedione’s effects.
There is a website called “perfumers apprentice” that sells Hedione for a good price. I think this Hedione stuff will come in quite handy in conjunction with mones.

Has anybody tried the Hedione yet?
Any results?
I’m thinking about getting some myself.
I checked out the site and the price does look worth it. What do we do about dosages though?
I went ahead and ordered it, with rush delivery. I’m excited to report back with results.
Ok so I just got my Hedione. And I got to say this stuff smells really good.. Really good. It definitely reminds me of something I’ve smelled in a cologne before. Perhaps Aqua di gio?
I read it in fact does have it. Not sure though. But it smells just like it.
I’m excited to test.
I still need to buy some, but I’ve been preoccupied with an injury (lost inch of thumb) and I’ve not even had time to use pheromones.
Once I’m back up & running I’m definitely gonna get some. How is the product itself, is it watery or oily? And is it a subtle or strong smell?
Sorry to hear that man.. My condolences.
The stuff smells pretty good. More subtle though. It seems almost hard to smell. Definitely doesn’t seem as strong as cologne usually is.
The stuff also worked real well. I used it in conjunction with one of my favorite mixes and it blew the results off the charts. The ladies in the grocery store were sort of DIHL with me. And this one girl I sexed up was horny as hell, and staring at me…
I definitely got to say Hedione is a great one and androtics should use it.
TUTH, TAC, and Hedione are my favorite products right now.
Mine came in a 15ml glass bottle without a spray and it appears to be in parfum/cologne style - NOT like an essential oil. It’s clear.
I had to dab it on my wrists to get down on my neck, so my results would be different if sprayed.
And therefore the scent was really really subtle - but then again, it may be better subtle seeing as the women don’t need to “smell” it, just for it to reach their nose..
To be honest, I was almost going to say you might as well just buy Aqua di gio, but then again this stuff is way cheaper..
Here are a few current brands that use Hedione:
Carolina Herrer 212 Men Summer “Limited Edition”
Milton Lloyd Fame & Glory for Men.
Givenchy Pour Homme, Blue Label.
Paco Rabanne Invictus - Note that this one also contains Oakmoss, the famed component of Andron and AD’s now discontinued Game Scent. Hmmm…! ![]()
Paul Smith EDT
Moschino Uomo EDT.
Voyage d’Hermes Unisex Parfum.
Azzaro Chrome for Men - Turns out I’ve been using this one as a cover for some years and yes, even without pheros, it has got the shirt ripped-off my back on more than a few occasions and many very positive comments/responses - but it does best with Sexual/Status mixes and for mixing NPA.
Hedione update*
So the other day I transferred my Hedione from its 15ml capped bottle to a 30ml spray bottle and have been spraying. Well strangely, it’s become really hard for me to smell it.. I don’t know what that’s about. I could really mostly only smell it when it have it sprayed on my neck and start to sweat.
Wow that’s great!
Mobocaster, I’m pretty sure I recall you being around last year when I made all the posts and comments about my great results, and if I remember correctly, you were lending me some help not too long ago when I was trying to figure out why my mixes weren’t working like last year…
Well it turns out last year I wore Aqua di gio (supposedly has Hedione) and now since adding the Hedione to my mixes, my results have turned back to normal!
Do you think hedione would be useful if mixed with cologne? I imagine it would do well with fresh, acqua di gio type scents, but what about sweeter, more powdery colognes?
I hope I can find some in Singapore.
Yes I think it will.. It’s a really nice scent. The smell reminds me almost exactly of Aqua di gio. I read somewhere that aqua di gio is 25% Hedione. It really is a pleasant scent. But honestly I think it would work wih just about anything seeing as it is very very subtle.
I don’t know about shipping but I’m pretty sure you can get it from the link.
I had three questions about this:
