Just curious. I notice there’s a different feel I get from watching people who smile when they’re personalities are all beta , childish, silly and wimpy, and when someone smiles who looks studly and then just then gives that genuine smile to a woman looking masculine at the same time.
In the old days I used to find SOE used to make me really wimpy in terms of smiling especially if I used it in large doses. I could barely contain myself from laughing.
Often with instant shine I will laugh like a fool at times too at the silliest things, but I have to remember to ACT alpha (with smiling) around women I am attracted too.
I also find it hard to relax my facial muscles to smile fully at strangers, especially beautiful women. I can do this once they know me well but if they are strangers I can’t my facial muscles are tense, its almost like even if I try to smile I can barely pull off a smirk I’m so in awe its almost like I give them a blank stare..
Any advice what to do in this situation? Do you think its just a confidence issue? When I lift weights especially those effecting my shoulder and neck and trapezius region I notice my facial muscles tense up too, I have a naturally inclined ability to harden muscles just by looking at weights; unfortunately, this means hardenings of my facial muscles and then Its like trying to stretch a strong thick short rubber band, it can be done but it requires too much effort.
Does weight training cause problems for anyone else here in this manner? I wouldn’t do it but i feel I have to or I’ll get fatter and also weaker now that I’m 40. I do 3 sets of 12 reps for most exercises.
Oh I don’t lift more than 20 lb free weights I can’t understand the load is not very high.
Any tips? If I back off training shoulders, I look like I have a narrow shoulder girdle. Don’t know what to do.
Can mones fix this problem? Maybe IS I don’t know and people say the self effects go away quickly with use . Stretching and massage therapy doesn’t help much.
That’s pretty much why I avoid wearing IO often. I get silly, clownish and its not a good fit for me. I’ve reported to this extent many times. However Jasmin did post in here Master IOI list that smiling that makes us look bad is a real IOI.
Yeah I’ve had girls who were self-conscious about their smiles just show every last one of their pearly whites when talking to me… that’s a real good sign.
But to get back to the ol’ beta alpha smiling thing. Yeah I’ve read about studies of chimpanzees in their groups, the ones who smiled a lot it was beta behavior and usually out of fear or nervousness…so like everything take it with a grain of salt. If you walk around smiling from ear to ear 24/7 you may look like you’re a bit crazy, or buffoonish. But there’s nothing wrong with smiling at a beautiful woman when she makes eye contact…it can be a very alluring thing to do.
If you’re overthinking it, then you’re “beta” smiling. An alpha can smile and not give a shit if it looks like he’s being beta, so he won’t.
The smile is only ONE of many forms of nonverbal communication that can indicate alpha or beta status. If you’re being masculine and alpha in 90% of your body language, facial expressions and voice inflections, then the smile won’t contradict it, but will instead be seen as another manifestation of it.
Reasons to smile.
You’re amused by the people and happenings around you. Like if a girl is trying to bust your chops and you know that it’s a sign she’s interested your smile can come off as a cocky confident smirk. Look for old eps of Moonlighting on DVD and watch Bruce Willis for an example of the cocky smile.
I actually stole a comeback line from of all places “Mortal Kombat” the movie. When a woman starts calling me arrogant, self centered, egotistical, etc etc etc, I SMILE and say "Yeah well you forgot ‘good looking’ " and more often than not it’s progressed in a …positive direction.
Reason 2…life is fucking awesome, you’re alpha, alpha=king and it’s good to be the king.
Reasons not to smile
You are HOPING the people you interact with like you.
You WANT people to think you’re having a good time when you’re not.
I agree with RAD, Alpha males smile because they want to not because its the thing to do. They dont think about it they just do it and we smile right along with them because … well they are the alphas and we follow there lead. How do they lead ? By doing what makes them feel good. However you rarely do see a Alpha male giggling like a school girl either.
As long as your not smiling constantly and I mean a big stupid grin type of smile and showing other nervous body language then your fine. A small impish cocky smile or smirk is fine or a relaxed smile is good for just going about your day. These do not indicate beta males. A big stupid forced grin for no reason is beta and rather creepy LOL.
Just dont walk around with a big old mean frown on your face either its unattractive.
However when your going in for the kill with a girl. Achieve eye contact then do the slow smile. Not a huge stupid grin. Alpha males are experts at the slow relaxed smile. Instead of saying “hey look at me I am digging you” like the goofy beta smile says when looking at a girl, the slow smile of a Alpha says " I know your into me" Its not about her its about him.
Take my word for it, My husband is a Alpha and he laughs and smiles alot when he is pleased. He also has his brooding moments but thats besides the point. Anywho… when he wants something from me he reverts to that slow smile and let me tell you that smile is lethal. It conveys not only interest but power. He even uses that smile when we are out and I am doing something …ah lets just say naughty. That slow smile makes me aware that boy am I gonna get it when we get home. ( not in a bad way ) just a reminder that he is aware of my naughtiness and to remind me who is my alpha. Very effective.

It starts with a relaxed facial expression. The male establishes direct eye contact with the female. He holds that eye contact then very slowly he starts to smile. Not a big toothy grin but sort of a nice relaxed natural up turn of the mouth ending in the show of just a portion of your teeth. Usually the women looks away first.
