One of the intro posts the other day asked about the ethics of pheromones. Now while the person asking didn’t quite understand the limits of mones, it is an interesting issue and I post this with the hopes that folks may come across and have any suspicions or guild allayed.
The Ethics Issue, or, The Pheromonal Response
The title is chosen, for one, to come up in search terms, and to contextualize this with the limits of the response. I have bounced this around in my head a bit even before being asked this and responding to this asker’s post let me know that others may be having this issue as well. Now, while I encourage everyone to come to their own conclusions, I am writing this article so these folks may have an easier time coming to terms and finally jumping into pheromones. The reason is that even with the short amount of time I have been using pheromones, my self-esteem has shot up, my sociability is through the roof, my life has improved dramatically, and I feel like I can do anything. Now while some may not need pheromones for this, the extra edge that these products offer can make a world of difference to someone who isn’t already inherently successful.
The Ethics Issue
Is the use of pheromones ethical? That question I have seen and heard several places, and it IS a valid concern and with really widespread use and commercialization, it could even become a problem, but I will get into that later. Are pheromones ethical… The short answer is yes. Pheromones will not remove free will, change made up minds, or give you control of another person. Yes there have been some VERY extreme reactions observed, sexually, emotionally, or otherwise, but the fact remains that pheromones will not brainwash anyone. The only uses I have seen for pheromones so far are your typical life desires: friendship, business, relationships, sex, etc. And with the right attitude and social script, these can give you an immense edge over others who we are competing against. There are many stories about being able to “gain the attention of that glamorous girl who has never paid attention to you before” or “the high value customers wanted to talk to me and wait for me for no reason, even when others were more than willing to take their business”. Pheromones can elevate your value, appeal, sexiness, and what-have-you, to others, making their use very appealing. Now what hasn’t been brought directly into the view of ethics but has been observed is the effect of pheromones on those who may be vulnerable. People with weak personalities, mental retardation, and other susceptibilities can be easily swayed by a pheromone response. Inappropriate behavior, lack of boundaries, revealing lots of information, even a flat out irresistible attraction can be created in those who lack the mental faculties to process the signals going through their brain. I’m not saying that a weak personality makes a person mentally retarded, but it can make them susceptible to strong, if not irrational, feelings about people. Without dwelling too much on this issue, it is safe to say that when dealing with susceptible persons, it is best to avoid the use of pheromones, especially sexual signals. If you are in a situation already wearing pheromones and confronted with this situation, tread carefully, the consequences could be unpredictable. The real dark side of this issue that quite simply needs to be brought to light is use of pheromones by predators. I will disclaim this here and now by saying that I have never heard of them being used for such a situation, nor do I think there needs to be a background check before purchase, but I think it should be known. We all know that predatory personalities can be very smooth and have silver tongues. I experienced this personally: I knew a guy who was quite the upstanding fellow: he played sports, was in a reputable fraternity, a 4.0 student, had a steady girlfriend, and was a cadet in an officer training program for the military. About a year after I met him, he was arrested, convicted, and jailed for rape. That may seem off topic, but it shows that anyone can be whoever they seem to be. We all know that abductions, rapes, and murders occur every year and sometimes the neighbors and friends of the subject will say they never saw it coming. Now if predators can get ahold of their targets with their guile alone, what happens when they get a shiny bottle of sexual attractant or something that elevates their level of perceived trust. Pheromones could become a monitored, regulated, or controlled substance if the problem were bad enough. We all know that the media would jump on, blame, and villianize pheromones if they found it related to a case. Now as I said, this is the darkest of darkest scenarios and it may not happen for a long while, but I do believe that it is inevitable. The thing to take away from the ethical situation is don’t do it for the wrong reason. Using it to gain the attention of the gal who mesmerizes you is fine. Spicing things up in the bedroom is fine. Even getting laid at your junior prom is fine…. ish. But don’t do it to take advantage of the quiet shy girl down the hall who clings to people only to drop her when you get bored. That is WRONG.
The Pheromonal Response
I probably just painted pheromone products in a very bad light just now but I believe it had to be said. What is important to remember about the ethics issue is that pheromones will not brainwash folks (for you). Dropping the dark side stuff of the last two pages, before you start using pheromones you need to realize that pheromones are more like a new really cool shirt than a magic wand that hypnotizes folks. You know when you meet someone for the first time and depending on the conversation you come away telling your friend about the vibes he was giving off? Well those vibes are your perception of him, which takes into account all 6 senses (I may as well add pheromonal responses as a sixth sense for the purpose of this article). He looked great, cologne smelled good, voice was dreamy and confident, handshake was firm, we’ll not get into taste, and I just had this good feeling about him when he walked up. That feeling could be pheromones. I once heard pheromones related to cooking at one point and I feel that is a good analogy. When you are creating a mix or using a pre-made product you are cooking up a set of subconscious vibes for yourself which, when applied, create a cloud around you. People in this cloud start feeling the effects of the pheromones and will usually associate those vibes with the first person they meet, especially if they have a scent to relate it to like a cologne. Whatever mix you have applied will imprint the people you meet with the effects of this encounter, so if you have the confidence and trustworthiness mix going on, your future boss will say, “that guy seems like a straight shooter, I like him”. On the same token, pheromones will affect everyone around you, so if you have a high –none sex mix on, the gals may like you, but the guys could hate you. Similarly, in that situation, it is also common to see girls associating those feelings to other guys, so those are two things to be wary of. You will also find that people have different levels of sensitivity to pheromones, similar to their ability to smell. Some folks will be able to smell you out, even locate you, and I have a ladyfriend who can tell the difference between IO, IS, and IH even though they are all the same scent. So while your mix can get you tail with one girl, it doesn’t mean the whole female population is in your pocket. Everyone requires a different touch and that touch will have to come from you. Having a good mix is great, but it requires you to play the part. If you are having a shitty day and are acting like it, no amount of sex pheromones will make you attractive; in fact, people might end up disgusted with you. Each mix will require a social script, in essence. If you were going for the professional businessman, you would apply A314 and act professional. If you were aiming for some tail, you would put on AMMO and act cool (or crazy, whatever works for your target). It is important to match your attitude and actions with your pheromone signature otherwise you will get no reaction or negative reactions from others and you might as well just save the money… If all you took away from this is that pheromones to not brainwash, that’s good enough for me. Understanding the limits of pheromones will help you use them and will improve your chances greatly at whatever effect you are trying to achieve.
Adding these together shows that pheromones can be used responsibly and that there is a limit to their effectiveness. I hope that if anyone had any ethics related questions that they could be answered here. If not, feel free to post below!
