Where can I meet more eligble men?

I am tired of the club scene. What are some of the places that you frequent? especially during the day on weekends.

come to my house

lol J/K i think coffee shops r really nice… i dont think i have ever really reported bout one, but i might, u get a good amount of looks and there can be some really nice people, people that have enough time to sit down and have a cup of coffee, not rushing around.

also country clubs, but thats more of really young people like me

beaches r good too

depends on wat u like to do, there will always be a decent guy where u r

bond

You know what? I ask myself the very same question all the time. Something about the “clubbing” scene always rubs me the wrong way. I like bars, just not the ones with shady dark black lighting and the latest dance beats turned up to twelve.

lots of places,

Library, bookstore, computer store, mall, Church, online dating sites, local singles nights,

Depending on the age group you seek; really depends on where you would need to go.

I was going to say the same thing.

The forums here are full of single guys.
there are 100’s of online singles forums, and websites, some free some not-

I’ve meet most guys at the gas station.

I’d like to meet men in the late 30’s to late 40’s.

Best advice I would have is think about your current interests OR something you have always wanted to do: ballroom dancing, martial arts, anything. Go out and start classes or join a club. But do something YOU want to do and enjoy doing. That way even if you do not meet someone right away you will still be having fun doing something you like. But trust me, the single guys will be checking you out and sizing you up. They may not approach at first but they will certainly know you are there. If in doubt read Renny’s journal entries about taking Spanish classes at night at the local community college. Good thing about this approach is that if you meet someone you know you have at least one thing in common.

I would not recommend doing something or going somewhere you do not like just to meet people because once you do meet someone - if they enjoyed that activity - either you are stuck doing something you don’t like or you change the relationship dynamic after the fact. Plus to me at least it speaks volumes about a person - and not necessarily good.

It would be like if I were single and met someone at the local shooting club. Everything goes along fine for a few months. Then one Saturday I say, “Hey, lets go send a few downrange again this Saturday morning.”

She says, “You know, I never really enjoyed that. I was only there to meet a guy. Why don’t we go to the garden club meeting instead?”

I say “WTF?” - on multiple levels of the relationship.

Now mind you I am not saying anything about shooting or garden clubs - just meant to be a funny example what I am saying.

Yea I agree with BossHank…best to join groups where you all have common interests and hobbies. I myself have joined numerous groups based on my interests on hiking, outdoor activites, religious groups, professional networking groups…I don’t go to every meeting but pick and choose which ones are fairly close to me (damn you gas prices) and meet my interests.

No Matter where you are I’d look into meetup.com since this is a great starting resource to find groups around you with similar interests, plus you can create profiles and read other people’s profiles.

Personally, I’d try to stay away from stuff that is passives, like coffee houses and bookstores since my best experiences come from being active and participating in something with others.

Good luck!

public transports ! all ages, all social backgrounds… and ecological !

I second that!

That is where I meet most women

I’d love to meet a girl who’s as obsessed with music as I am but I don’t know where to find her. I like Innocent, good girls and clubs aren’t filled with those types unfortunately
:frowning:

Hmm, I gotta agreed with you said there Wildflower, it’s hard to find that type of girls in clubs unless if you are lucky to meet one there

To bad there isn’t any public transportation around here. I am almost so far out in the sticks they have to pipe in sunlight.

for now I will have to go with coffee shops, restaurants, dry goods stores, or church. As the Bars are a bit weird, but in a college town anything is possible.

Clubs are rigged! I pick up girls during the day all the time.

Here’s a tip. Do you have a hobby…?

“well yes Maj I do”

OK, then go to a store that specializes in your hobby and flirt with a cute sales man. You always have lots to talk about so matching is easy and at least you will have fun sharing something together. It is easy to lead onto an “excursion” that has something to do with your shared interest.. Maybe even some alone time ! It doesn’t hurt if she im ean he HE!! (for me a she) is young, has great smile and is a tad naive… just go have fun girl!

Otherwise, Bookstores… Lunch places… Standing in line anywhere is good because we can chat for a while and it seems natural.

All you have to do to open a man is touch, smile and ask for the time.. then screen out the inexperienced !

I have this problem too, not really that interested in alcohol clubs- I hardly drink anyways. Where I live, I have trouble connecting with people and I’m not even sure there are any groups or clubs I’d like going to. I I’m not even sure I share any real values with people in this area anymore, much less interests.

And, the price of gas is starting to put a crimp on things if you live in a suburb. I stay close to home now days or I don’t go there.

my hobbies are very girlie like sewing, belly dancing etc I am ultra feminine and I want a very mannish man. But I do check for them at the grocery stor and car wash.

Yeah, with hobbies like that you aren’t going to find a manly man, you are lucky to find one that likes girls.
Although sewing isn’t that hard, like any other building process it is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Walk up to some guy washing his car, and say “Hey mister, this is a nice car, does it go very fast?” (or something like that)

I am not very aggressive when it comes to approaching guys.

I guess I should have said,

IF I WERE LOOKING FOR YOU WERE WOULD I FIND YOU?

Well, my off-work time is usually spent at home, unless I am shooting pool, grocery shopping, or having a beer at my favorite watering hole. On occasion, I like to go bowling, take in an arts and crafts show, see concerts and movies.

during the week, one of four places,
behind a keyboard of a computer, sleeping, under my car, or driving.

Weekends typically a race track, either racing, in the pits or watching
Fall and winter is basketball I am typically watching college basketball, normally live, I was on ESPN 3 times last year  not featured but I spotted myself in the crowd. But then I am the one yelling at everything good and bad.

I have only been to 5 bars in the last year, most of the time it wasn’t much more than a sausage fest. so I left. The others it was to eat dinner.

I am the single guy every married woman wants to date. I just haven’t happened on a single one yet.
I still haven’t figured it out, I am a good listener, good cook, better comedian, and everything but a registered and licensed masseuse

Dallas is only about about a 9 hour drive, and only one tank of fuel in my car, but I know a guy who has done the drive in 4.5 hours.:open_mouth:

I am the same way with women, I have never been good at “Cold Calling” or walking up to a complete stranger. I am getting better but I still need to warm up to a room before trying to talk to someone I do not know. I am more of the strong silent type until I get a feel for my surroundings.
I can’t seem to talk to a woman alone, who I do not know in some fashion.

I’d also have to suggest a grocery store. I never know what I want to eat on any given day, so I make frequent trips throughout the week. I’d imagine a lot of single guys do the same.

And seriously, Belly Dancing is one of the hottest hobbies in the world.
(I once requested one from my girlfriend, as a birthday gift. Of course, if I would’ve known about pheromones at the time, I would have aimed for Slave Leia in a Gold Bikini. Belly Dancing )
