Daedelus' journal

Ok now i know what emaciated means already. Thanks buddy for explaining to me through PM. Keep on posting more reports in your journal  I will be keeping track of it

BTW, “emaciated” is pronounced “ee-may-shee-ay-ted”

I hope you got a reply I sent you on how I’m doing. I’m not sure it went through, I may have to retype it if you don’t get it.

Well buddy, i haven’t received it but it’s no need to retype it. I think there is something wrong with the PM system right now. I have sent 3 or 4 PM to one of my buddy & click sent but when i check my PM sent box, there is no trace of my sent PM.

I tried MX203 today (well, yesterday technically). I was wearing about 3 inches of Scent of Eros, 2 sprays of WAGG at 1/4 dilution. Spur of the moment decision to try MX203.

I got some OK friendly reactions from a white, late 20’s barista at a coffee place. Halfway through my interactions her eye contact decreased dramaticly like she suddenly became shy- she was polite but it was like suddenly she became a little withdrawn- wierd huh? A Latino woman at Burgar King wasn’t really phased at all, she seemed stressed out and eager to call it a night.

I like androsterone better. I think, at least based on my initial experience, MX203 is oriented towards somebody totally different than myself, but I’ll have to keep playing around with it. Also, I believe P93 on its own would be fun to play with.

I should also add there was some Hispanic staff, young guys and one woman at the Burger King sort of goofing off and farting around… and I had to use the bathroom. When I went to go towards the bathroom I said “excuse me” and they all got out of my way without question (“parting of the red sea”), and one of them said “Sorry Sir”. I don’t know if this is unusual or not, but I just thought I’d note it. Needless to say, not the best time of day to go to that particular Burger King. Next time it will be Steak and Shake for sure.

So, what do you think… was MX203 actually doing anything for me? Why did the barista give me reduced eye contact? I notice this with young women alot- I start out making eye contact and halfway through the conversation, they start acting nervous or not looking at me so much. Sometimes I’m thinking maybe they don’t like how I look- or is it something about them, or both?

I rarely get this with older women… they seem grateful for the attention, perhaps? Or maybe they are less intimidated by men? Or maybe they can overlook whatever younger women are seeing on me? It’s very confusing.

Hmm.. Okay, I’m going to be frank about this, because I think it’s relevant. The last time I went to my usual strip joint, where my friend Paradise works, I was wearing a variation of SteveO’s ICM mix that Mark-in-Dallas helped me kit-bash from my stock. I also topped it with a bit of MX203-- specifically, two sprays to my neck.

I got a 3 song lapdance from her in the VIP section, which is where you can get all touchy-feely with the dancer. I noticed that about midway during the second song, a change started coming over her. Her body temp was rising and she was starting to breathe heavily. Her motions were also slower, more deliberate. I started to be able to smell her. It was sort of copulin-like, but not dirty smelling (no pun intended). Women seem to have a certain smell about them when they’re getting aroused, and I could definitely detect it. This was quite possibly the hottest lapdance I’ve ever gotten from this girl.

Now, the relevant part is that when it was over and we left the VIP, she gave me a quick peck on the cheek and dashed into the dressingroom. Usually, she’ll hug me and we’ll briefly chat for a minute or two before parting ways. Since then, she hasn’t called me at all. Not to say hello, not to cold call me to get me to come to the club, nothing. She usually calls me 2 or 3 times a week. I tried to call her a couple of times when I was planning on going to the club. Both times, I left voice mail, and both times she never returned my calls. When I went up there Sunday night, I talked to one of the bouncers, and she was there Friday, as usual, so it wasn’t a case of her being MIA or anything.

I’m thinking that during that last lapdance, she let her guard down and dropped whatever “professional detachment” is in place while she’s working. I think she was getting aroused, and she might be a bit embarrassed about it. To speculate further, I think something may have happened in her head as a result of my behavior (I was REALLY getting into the dance, too, and going after her errogenous zones with my fingertips), and the pheromones that is making her a tad confused.

So, the point of all this is that based on my experience (though the MX203 was part of a complex mix), the Barista may have had a brief spark of attraction, but stifled it due to being married/involved, or whatever situation that would somehow make a fleeting attraction improper. It’s just a hunch though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Oh, btw, I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Oud. Ever tried it before? There was a big thread over at LS about it, and it seems to be well loved. I thought about getting some for myself, but it’s one of many things that I planned to do, but never got around to doing.

Good Report on MX203 together with WAGG & Scent of Eros buddy  Good reactions on the coffee barista girl & especially when you are going to the bathroom & everyone moved out their way & one even say “Sorry Sir” This show how much respect they have on you there while you are going to the bathroom

Well for my opinion MX203 work on you but you need to test more of it. Well for the barista reduced eye contact well i can’t say much on this as i’m not sure myself. Well buddy you should not think that they don’t like you by how you look but by how they feel & think about you like your character or attitude. It doesn’t have to be the looks.

I think for older women are more matured in their character & thinking so that is why they are grateful for the attention given compared to the younger girls well you can say that they are still playful & do not think maturely like the older ones. That’s all i can say. Reps for your report

P.S. I think you sent your PM to me again as i have not received your previous PM.

No, I’ve never tried oud before. I will let you all know how it smells. It is suppossed to have a very complex scent.

Hmm… interesting observation Data… sounds similar to what I experienced. Truthfully I was not hitting on this woman, at least I thought not. I just wasn’t afraid to look. She wasn’t that good looking, either- she wasn’t ugly but she shouldn’t have been so flattered as my behavior wasn’t that unusual from the norm now days I give to everybody. She did have nice eyes, though, but after I got a good look at her eyes she started looking away from me alot. I’ve only really seen this behavior mostly in younger women, too. Probably it’s some kind of shield going up.

Also, another thing I noticed Orlando is becomming a low-eye-contact area. People here just don’t make too much eye contact normally. I’ve noticed this especially in the past few months as I started paying more attention to it. I noticed young people interacting here and they don’t often look at each other that much. Maybe that’s a factor. Perhaps I’m making a little too much eye contact? It’s hard to figure out what is normal… plus eye contact seems to get alot of pheromones to just click.

Not much happened today. I wore Scent of Eros with Aramis and went to watch Indiana Jones with my family.

Indiana Jones was a good movie though I feel it is at this point either an homage to the original Raiders of the Lost Ark or a cliche, depending on your point of view. The plot is more or less the same, the characters and setting are different, and not to give too many spoilers but the ending wasn’t totally satisfying and seemed surprisingly familiar (here’s a hint, everything explodes and wierd things happen to peoples faces). I think the Temple of Doom is the best of the three but this last one was definitely good. I rate the Last Crusade as probably the “least”.

And that’s about all I did today, maybe something interesting will happen tomorrow- if not I probably won’t bother posting. When I get the perfume supplies and agarwoods in next week I will definitely write a report on them.

Today was a sunday and my and my brother went to Steak and Shake and had some coffee and a few french fries. We were bored. I went for a ride earlier on my scooter and picked up a few things, but it started raining hard later. So we went out and hung around a Wal-Mart for a while just farting around and looking at movies.

One thing I did notice today was I was getting alot of IOI’s and looks from other people, particularly men. I have been experimenting a bit with maca root. Actually, my mom bought some to try out but I’ve been trying it out. It seems to have an effect similar to ginseng and gives me extra energy. In fact 1500mg of the dried powder may be a bit strong, as that’s what I took yesterday (mixed in yogurt), and when I went to bed the feeling was similar to trying to sleep wearing androstenone- I felt somewhat warm and it took a while to settle down. This morning I just took 500mg. I think it might be changing my pheromones somewhat- I’ve read a little bit about it, it contains glucosinates (also in broccolli, but much lower), suppossed to modulate a bunch of different hormones, good for prostate problems and other things. Seems to have some interesting effects, not sure I need all that much, really. I felt a touch hot or warm, similar to ginseng but a little milder. Wierd effect but combined with 1/2 drop of WAGG and some Scent of Eros I was getting alot of looks from people. These Hispanic/Mexican kids behind us in the restaurant kept staring at me, for some reason, and a woman sitting across from us kept staring at me and so did her boyfriend. FREAKY! I wonder if this stuff is boosting androstenone? I didn’t feel like a jerk or anything like that, just like I had alot of energy.

Oh, another thing was I emptied out an atomizer that had some Alter Ego in it, and filled it up with Canoe and gave myself a few spritzes. I think just a trace of the Alter Ego got on my skin, too. Not alot, probably just a trace. Alter Ego is buffered so I don’t think that was contributing much to the unusual effect I experienced.

Good report there buddy  So i see by using Maca root together WAGG & scent of Eros, you get a lot of IOIs from people & have them stared at you all the way. Very interesting & reps for your report

P.S. Just to inform you that i can’t sent you any PM for now as the PM system here is still in faulty.

Today I got some Agarwood/Oud oil and diluted a small amount heavily to smell. This oil is from Myanmar and it’s dark in color, just a few shades lighter than blackstrap molasses. The first impression of this oil after putting on a little on my wrists, is that it is dark and medicinal. To my nose initually it smells resinous, like frankincense and myrrh- it has the sharper smell of frankincense combined with the depth of myrrh, combined with maybe some of the earthiness of patchouli or vetiver. It doesn’t smell overly simplistic but it also doesn’t smell like a scent that would be that hard to synthesize or approximate.

I had my mom smell some and she thought it smelled like a hospital cleanser. I initially was puzzled by this, but it does smell like a scent I’ve smelled somewhere before, maybe at a hospital, or some kind of medicinal ointment. I’m more convinced I’ve smelled it somewhere before because it just seems familiar in some way.

I’m getting some interesting self-effects from sniffing the stuff and it feels like it’s enveloping me a bit. It feels a little like TAK, if you can believe that. Not quite the same but similar. I can see how it is considered useful in religious contexts; it has a place in some Buddhist and Islamic practices.

Oh, and there really is a bit of a “fecal” note to it that can pop up, especially blended with other oils, but it’s more like the smell you might find in a barn than the rotten smell of a sewer. Very earthy. If you blend with it, you have to keep that in mind and balance it out (I tried blending a little bit of perfume up just to fool around- I’m going to give it to my mom. I found some notes such as Jasmine actually accentuated the “poop” quality and it had to be balanced with some sharper, less earthy notes like vanilla).

And the end of the day after all I’d done, I had been trying a few highly diluted drops every few hours. I never really smelled the stuff all that much, but I began to feel like I was falling into a bit of a funk. I noticed I wasn’t so talkative and I didn’t have as much of a desire to interact with people so much… it almost seems like an anti-TAK in higher dosages. No anxiety or anything like that, but agarwood/aoud is almost what the Japanese would call “shibui”, beautiful touched by bitterness/harshness (severely beautiful).Like a bonsai tree or a really dark miso: “It takes no prisoners”. So I was beginnig to feel funky being around all these different scents all day, smelling this and that… so I took a bath and washed it away.

I got a new fragrance to try today, too. It’s called Salvador Dali. Some folks over at Basenotes recommended it as a bizarre/mysterious fragrance to try out, that might blend well with pheromones if I wanted something “mysterious” that didn’t smell ordinary. It’s the “pour Homme” version for men, an EDT that comes in a Surrealist bottle with a pair of lips over the spray cap. It smells very unusual, almost like a woman’s fragrance, or a man’s cologne dressed in drag. Almost severely beautiful, but there’s a goofy tone to it, like a cartoon and everything about this is bold. It smells like sandalwood, a smokey note or perhaps a fruity/spicey note, a bit of pine in there and it is definitely wacky. Honestly I’m not sure it would make a good everyday cologne. It’s cheap (22 bucks a bottle), and even smells a little cheap (vaguely fake smelling like a knockoff fragrance), but I definitely wouldn’t dismiss it as a lightweight. In fact something of the smell reminds me of aoud, but a little “stretched out”, more dynamic, and less intense.

Is maca just for guys or do women take it too?

Women can use it. The effect is similar to ginseng but a little milder- it’s what herbalists would call an adaptogen- an herb or chemical that increases a persons resistance to stresses (licorice is another adaptogen, as an example), usually by acting on the endocrine system/adrenal glands. Honestly there aren’t alot of studies that have hit the mainstream media yet. From what I’ve read, it helps the pituatary gland mantain normal hormone levels, that’s one of the leading theories on how it works. In men it is good, for instance, for enlarged prostate, and in women it is said to be good for menopausal symptoms, PMS, etc. It’s also said to increase libido and increase stamina.

A recommended dose is about 500-1000 mg 3 times a day of the dried, powdered root in pill or bulk form. I think 500-1000 mg is fine for me, and I tend to “overheat” a bit using ginseng continuously, so I go easy on maca too, and I don’t take it every day (a good idea for adaptogens in general, actually). I think maca is milder. It probably works better in older people, not so much in people under 35-40, that would be my guess.

The main active chemicals are called glucosinates, and they are also found in mustard and cruciferous vegetables such as broccolli, cabbage, etc.

Today’s mix was 1/8 drop copulins (sprayed), about 6 inches of Scent of Eros, 1 spray Instant Shine, 12.5mcg TAK. I went to the mall with my mom to pick up some rubbing alcohol (it’s what I dilute alot of sprays with- stinks for about 2 minutes a bit then goes away), and to play around a bit with scents and pheromones. Today I wore Salvador Dali out in public, 2 sprays. I’ve heard this stuff described a bit by its detractors as Satan’s Aftershave, or a fragrance perhaps suited to Goth sensibilities- black lilies on a wooden casket. Initially my mom wrinkled her nose at it a bit, like “what the hell were you thinking?” She says it is growing on her, though. I think it imparts a wierd, quirky, profound mood to stuff, though. A bit of Salvador Dali in there?

The drydown reminds me a bit of agarwood/oud, though it’s really a cornucopeia of every Oriental note, like sandalwood, vetiver, amber, etc., it’s mysterious and sensuous, but the heart and top notes are contrasting (technically, they should be more flowerly and soft than spicey and dry- this is a freaky Oriental fougere which is a rare breed) and the top and heart notes do smell a bit like a fire and there’s a bit of feminine sensuousness and aldehydic quality in the top notes. A bit of a man’s cologne dressed in drag.

I had a good reaction from a white barista, around 30 or so plus or minus. Eye contact was consistant and she didn’t seem to “shut down” halfway through the conversation, and I leaned over a little bit over the counter so I could get a little closer. I got some decent reactions from other people too. The unusual scent seemed to catch a few peoples attention, especially kids.

Oh, earlier in the day, I tried a similar fragrance before I took a bath… it’s called “Lucky You for Men”, under the Lucky brand (I think it’s Estee Lauder or Coty). The bottle has a cute little Irish looking hat on the cap, and a cloverleaf on the bottle. It smells like a lighter version of Salvador Dali- it’s less sensuous and a little more straightforward, but it has a firey/smokey quality to it as well. Great stuff and doesn’t cost all that much either. Basenotes mentions this:

"Lucky You for Men has “Special Musk Molecules” interwoven throughout the fragrance. It has a clean, fresh scent and the bottle is “coke” bottle green and has an embossed lucky clover image. Both the male and female ‘Lucky You’s’ Include a Massage Oil Spray in the range. "

Hmm… does this contain pheromones? What are “special musk molecules?”

Today I didn’t do alot. Just ran around town a little wearing Scent of Eros, picked up some dropper caps for a few bottles I have, as well as some high-purity jojoba. We went to Steak and Shake later and got a Sundae and some coffee. Earlier I wore Lucky You, and this evening I wore Oud Maliki, which is an oud/sandalwood/rose/amber perfume (it’s a unisex perfume from the UAE), fairly potent and I just wore half a drop. Nobody complained except my brother (“that stuff smells like too many chemicals”) and I got very good reactions from the waiter- I think the Scent of Eros also helped.

Once you get used to oud a little, some of the self-effects aren’t so blatant and the smell is appealing, maybe even a little addictive. You don’t notice it so much. I was actually debating decanting a little bit of the purer oud, highly diluted and maybe selling it on eBay for a small profit if possible. Highly diluted is really the best way to start out with this stuff because it’s potent and unusual. I already have an “experiment” sitting around, a small 2cc vial that I was experimenting diluting mineral oil/oud into jojoba, and it worked fine.

I stayed up late trying to approximate real oud oil, and I believe this is close compromise consisting of readily available oils you can find at any healthfood store- most are natural but one oil blend is synthetic. You might need a pipette or two and disassemble a few jars a bit (roller ball tops). Steam extracted oud apparrently has a bitter/dark note that doesn’t come through in this reconstruction, due to the nature of steam extraction: it damages certain volatile oils in the wood.

2 drops vetiver
2 drops patchouli
2 drops jasmine absolute (in jojoba), AuraCacia
3-4 drops amber and sandalwood. Kuumba Made fragrance oil (synthetic)
1 drop frankincense (in jojoba). AuraCacia
3 drops jojoba oil
multiply all the numbers to make larger amounts

It should smell slightly smokey, earthy, deep, and mysterious, but it’s a bit softer than the steam extracted Burmese oud I have, which also has a bit of a tangy note to it too that’s lost in the reconstituted oud. I may refine this mix in the future as needed. Of course, you can get 1-2ml concentrated oud on eBay for a little more than the same price you will pay for most of those essential/fragrance oils. It will smell more bitter and initially a bit dank, though.

BTW, this reconstituted “oud” I created seems to have a vibe fairly similar to the real thing. It’s not as heavy or as piercing, though. Then again, I don’t get that from real oud, either. It’s not “a-sexual” so much as non-sexual.

Good Report on your Copulin, Scent of Eros, Instant Shine & TAK mix  Well i have not tried Salvador Dali so i can’t comment on it. Look like that white barista was interested to you due to the mix there plus your effort too if not why she will give you consistant eye contact and she didn’t “shut down” halfway her conversation with you unlike before that  That’s good buddy

As for lucky for men, well it is an interesting fragrance but i’m not sure it contain pheromone like you say there although it did say “special musk molecules”

And yes scent of Eros helped you there in your new report there, good results from the waiter

Anyway i wish you all the best in making your fragrance & reps for for your reports

Yesterday and the day before… I did very little I played around with a few more scent combinations, mostly stayed at home. It rained all the time, went out to get a burger. No fun with pheromones really though I did wear a small amount of pheromones (androsterone or Scent of Eros).

Shipping costs on stuff is ridiculous, and alot of it is UPS only. I used to pay about $4 shipping a few years ago for the same thing I pay about $9-10 dollars now days. For me inflation is far worse than the slumping economy. I looked into perfumers alcohol but it seems sort of pricey (plus it’s a hazmat if you order enough of it, with a $20 dollar surcharge), even though I ordered some I’m also going to experiment around with cyclomethicone in any spray fragrances I do as an alternative (maybe ethanol is going up in price due to “corn-to-ethanol” fuels?). The prices are getting out of hand on alot of stuff.

I finally got a PC game I’d been waiting on and was delayed. The Political Machine 2008. So I’ve been busy doing that and spending less time posting.

I got hold of some more base oils today. The synthetic civet oil smells like a combination of a nasty, sweet ketone-heavy halitosis, and a dead skunk. I’ve never smelled the real thing but it’s definitely potent stuff, the Perfumer’s Apprentice recommends no more than 1 percent in the basestock. Also I got some animalid/synthetic deer musk, it smells much better- somewhat floral and smells a bit like androstenone but slightly woody, also auranone which is a pleasant floral-smelling musk. All of them are very potent and concentrated.

The synthetic Black Agarwood from Givaudan doesn’t really smell like aoud, either- it smells like ambergris and sandalwood mixed with a balsam or myrrh- it’s really very soft and powdery compared to real Indochinese aoud, and it doesn’t blend very well with the real smell at all, so it’s probably worthless :frowning: Maybe I could make a nice woman’s perfume with it. I’ve ordered some Firmenich brand synth. agarwood, but it will be here later this week.

I played around with the civet cat oil for a while, starting off with two drops of rose, two drops of linalool, 2 drops of bergamot, a very small amount of civet, and 2 drops of musk. I almost had a good fragrance for a minute, but I added a drop of amber oil and the whole thing came crashing down like a house of cards. The stuff just reeked of dead animals, rotting vegetation, or cat crap.

Civet contains alot of skatole, which is methyl indole. Amber, jasmine, and a couple of other oils also apparrently have some too, but civet has the mother load. I only used about 1 drop of 10 percent civet, too. Civet is just way too hard to work with- it’s foul smelling stuff. BTW, indole is also found in copulins. Indole smells a bit like dead, rotting animals or cat crap. In low concentrations suppossedly it smells vaguely rubbery floral, like jasmine (also a source of indole). It must take an expert hand to blend with it, and I think I’m just going to avoid it for now in favor of safer musks like beaver, deer, or generics.

Just FYI, a fragrance with civet is Chanel #5, there are several others but they are mostly women’s fragrances. It adds a decadent/animal edge to fragrances, at least from what I’ve read.

I got hold of some cyclomethicone NF today in the mail. This stuff is amazing. I mixed up a quick test blend of 1 drop patchouli, 2 drops of lavender, and 2 drops of lemon, plus 4 drops of jojoba oil… then I mixed in about a mililiter of cyclomethicone NF and all the carrier oils and essential oils dissolved instantly, no cloudiness at all. I may experiment in the future making a sprayable oil pheromone mixture and see how well that works.

I need to test how well it blends with an alcohol fragrance or pheromones, but so far I’m impressed. It also goes on very light and silky, not oily… even lighter than jojoba. And it’s cheaper than perfumer’s alcohol. My only concern is shelf life, and the fact it probably has little or no additional fixative value of its own (perfumers alcohols usually have dipropylene glycol).

I got Glucam P-20 yesterday, so today I am going to try it out with pheromones. I added a drop to my own WAGG mixture, 1 drop in some Instant Openness, and 1 drop in a small amount of Instant Shine.

I’m also experimenting around putting it in fragrances. It does seem to increase the lifespan of top notes- I added some to an attar I had diluted in alcohol and the rose note seemed to stay sharper longer, though it also cuts down on the initial diffusivity/lift alot.
