I'm Super Charged

Hey, after that little bit experience has made me think, “why am I trying to do this all in one shot?” I figured out that picking up girls and trying to find relationships takes practice. So here’s what I took in from you guys and a little bit of self-thought. I thought picking up girls is much like practicing songs on my guitar. Good guitarists don’t practice the whole song, but they take parts of a song to the smallest bit they can practice, and add to it. It’s kind of like how I practice shredding. I’ll take the smallest lick possible and then add one note at a time. Therefore, picking up girls is basically the same. I work on my approach. Then I start small talk. I work my way up to a meaningful conversation. After that, I work on seduction. Then it’s numbers. Finally its kissing time.

So what I did today is that I put on my pheros and said “hi, how are you doing?” or “hello” to anyone that I saw at the mall, downtown, and the park, all three places in one hour. It was a rough start because the first person I saw was a hot girl at an atm. However, I said hi to this guy walking by himself. Then I started saying hi to old people, and then anyone. At the park, I’ve managed to say hi to some really hot girls (the ones where they make your heart run), and to an attractive girl who had two guy friends with her!

After today, I’ve accomplished something . I’m going to practice my approach anxiety until I no longer think of whether or not I should say something to this person. It may take a week or two, but in time, I’ll be ready to start a meaningful conversation and actually leave them better than I found them.

Sorry if I misunderstood…

But were you trying to initiate conversation or say “hi” to random people?

I think it is riotously fun to approach people for no reason at all, other than for a quick hello. I talk to people standing in line behind me at the grocery store, people passing me on the sidewalk, people riding elevators with me, whomever. Particularly old people. No one pays any attention to them a lot of the time, just saying hello can brighten up their day.

I once thought that people who talked to everyone without showing fear must have some incredible talent. Or super confidence. But over a period of years I emerged from shyness and discovered that I was one of those people, and the only special talent I had for it was just being willing to give it a try.

It started with my brother challenging me to smile at everyone I made eye contact with during the course of one day. I was so startled by how many people smiled back, that I started saying hello without thinking about it.

Now I am a jabbermouth who talks to strangers on the elevator.

Hey man, that’s really awesome of you. I also do the same with songs on guitar so I understand what you’re trying to say, another thing I try to do that may help you too is to open doors for people or if you see someone coming up behind you hold the door open until they too then pass. I do this a lot, and it also makes me feel pretty good when they say thanks. Or if someone drops something and you happen to be right there, pick it up for them. Do this with anyone, not just young girls you find attractive. Sooner or later it’ll become second nature/like a habit. It’s fun too and a good way to be a gentlemen.

That’s what I did yesterday. Today I’m going to do it again. I’m trying to rid myself of these second thoughts; that’s how I’m tackling approach anxiety.
