Nootropics: any personal advice or experience to share?

Hey guys,

Long time no see…

How’s everyone?

I’ve been checking out nootropics, pretty interesting substances… Anyone has a personal advice/experience that you are willing to share?

TIA,
me

Hi! Welcome back!

I don’t have a lot of time to go into detail… but try coenzymated B vitamins (Country Life), bacopa, and vinpocetine (20mcg of BioVinca brand only). These are all inexpensive, and will ROCK your socks, I guarantee it!

Bad, but cheap supplier:

Their house brand, NSI, is great for most things. Their customer service is terrible these days, though. Anyone makes mistakes, and that’s OK, but they seem like they try to INTENTIONALLY anger me. I think they grew so fast, they started hiring anyone who came in through the door. I wish I could get NSI elsewhere.

Also… Life Force vitamins, by umm… Source Naturals? These are too strong to use every day (or the effects go away), but they’re incredible if you cycle them. I cycle them with much gentler vitamins, like Alive! and some girly prenatal type stuff.

I also cycle the conenzymated Bs with normal B vitamins (Trader Joes brand usually), to keep the effects strong.

I was just browsing vitacost website just now looking for L-arginine tablets…like you mentioned, the price is cheap but the shipping cost for anything from US is 10 times higher than the product itself!:open_mouth: I sometimes wonder who is making the money now, the manufacturer of the products or the postal services?

Good coustomer service and hyoooge variety.

Piracetam and aniracetam are good for cognition benefits. Not a profound effect, but that’s the way nootropics are. If they were strong, our government would find some way of making them illegal.

Picamilon is also a very good one. It improves blood flow to the brain and relaxes you quite well.

I like vinpocetine, but the problem with that is you HAVE to take it with food. With food, about 60-70% is absorbed. Without food, about 6%. If you don’t take it with a meal, it’s worthless, which, naturally, limits its practicality.

I don’t know about money, but some USPS guy now has two free to-go bottles of instant shine that are rightfully mine.

If you’re reading this, Mr. Postal Service Guy, you know who you are, I WANT THEM BACK!

Fortunately, steve-o told me he’ll replace them for free.

Shipping is definitely one of the most expensive things in the world, especially now. It’s not the shipping companies profiting so much. In business circles, I’ve heard it’s the way for the government people who steal the oil and other resources, to steal trillions of dollars of $. It’s like a tax on the entire world. After all, you gotta ship.

Hmmm…perhaps they didn’t go through the ‘Ten Commandments’ that was given to Moses quite sometime ago!

trde, is there any depression with picamilon like there is with phenibut?

Yeah! Someone also stole my 3 to-go bottles when I ordered in 2006. Luckily for me too, our lovely Jasmin re-shipped to me more than what I lost. May God bless her and her family always.

depression as in bad mood? I never noticed that with phenibut. It improved my mood, actually, as I had less inhibition and anxiety.

But if you mean depression as in lower energy, yes I notice that with phenibut if I take too much, but not with picamilon.

Picamilon is strangely stimulating. It helps relieve anxiety (although not nearly as strong as phenibut) and gives you kind of a relaxed energy. Also improves blood flow to the brain and helps concentration.

It’s GABA bonded to Niacin (B3), but has the effects of both but multiplied, plus other benefits.

You can’t take it all the time, though, cause you develop a tolerance. But it works great for tests, presentations, or social events if you don’t intend to drink much.

Yes. Jasmin pwns all n00bs.

Exactly.. Me and my friends sometimes save cost by sharing shipping costs.. We should do that together sometimes .

Keep talking Jas I am taking notes LOL I am not up on this subject but find it fasinating.

Of course I take vitimins but nothing fantastical just my one a day LOL

Tisha :stuck_out_tongue:

Phenibut can cause depression? Well, that would explain my depressed mood yesterday evening after taking Phenibut and Phenylethylamine - I’ve been almost crying from sadness (and I haven’t cried in years). :frowning: Maybe I should look into Picamilon.

Sorry to hear about that.

Phenibut and PEA contradict each other. Like, literally, they are almost exact opposites. Try taking them individually next time.

How much did you take of each? I’ve noticed that PEA can make me moody. Or at least moreso if I already am. If I’m in a neutral or good mood, it will raise it , but if I’m in a bad mood, it multiplies it a hundred fold :frowning:. Perhaps that was your problem.

PEA = your body’s natural version of Adderall (amphetamine).

It’s been 10 mg PEA and 2g Phenibut (4 pills). I didn’t know that they contradict each other. I guess I should be much more careful with this stuff!!

I feel much better again - maybe because the effect of the stuff has worn down!

lol. 10 mg? That does absolutely nothing, even by itself. try 100-250mg. Also, with PEA, it gets metabolized by monoamine oxidase (MAO) before it reaches the brain if you take it orally.

Unless you’re either on a prescription MAO inhibitor (if you don’t know what that is, you’re not on one  ) or took some hordenine (weak MAO-B inhibitor, perfectly safe, and strong enough to let PEA get to your brain), then PEA won’t work at all, no matter how much you take.

2g phenibut? Was this your first time trying it? If so, that’s a lot for your first time, but it’s fine if you’ve taken it before. What brand of pheni did you use?

 The whole packet PEA contains only 120 mg! So that stuff seems to have been a waste of money…

My Phenibut comes from Relentless Improvement. I’ve been using it before, but not very often. I didn’t even feel much of a change the last times I’ve taken it.

Well, I guess I should stick to cardio and weight lifting for improving my mood - that has proven to be the most beneficial. And it’s for free!

Good idea!
