About the looking down in the hallway thing: there is this guy I’m crushing on (he’s my ex’s roommate, so I don’t think anything will happen between us) and if I see him somewhere on campus, I would look down, but I guess I’m not comfortable with just going up to him and saying hi. If I stop by his room or something, I’m usually there to talk to my ex (we’re good friends now). It is because of my ex that I am comfortable talking to him in his room. Maybe she hasn’t developed a comfort level in approaching you and saying hi. I know it sounds weird.

If she has screwed other guys over in the past, what makes you think she won’t screw you over (I’m not trying to make you feel dumb for having feelings for her, I just want you to think if you are an exception in any way)

I got chewed out only once by my ex, and I really appreciated it. I came to him because I was down on myself cuz I figured I wasn’t good enough for anything, especially since people (even professors when it comes to giving homework help) like twittery blonds, which is the exact opposite of what I am. I was ready to give up, and my ex chewed me out because he didn’t think it was a good excuse to stop trying. I wanted comfort, but I got chewed out instead, so I was pissed at first. But after thinking about it for a little bit, I found out I appreciated it, and I wished he would chew me out while we were dating.
