I was just on facebook and had this comment conversation with this kid who graduated last year from my school. Here’s what he had to say (ignore the girl, she’s talking to her bf who made the post, and I’m ian (robz) and eric murphy is the kid)
Your are fat? Didn’t get that from your picture you posted. I really hope you’re not letting this get to you, I’ve been on the target side of comments of that same level of immaturity and stupidity so I know what you’re currently going through. If I can give you some word of advice it would be to NOT let it get to you no matter how hard it is, he’s doing this to see if it will affect you. Trust me, this is verbal immature terrorism and what they want to get out of it is see you be bothered by it. DON’T let it bother you, it’ll just show them that they’re winning this dumb game. Just brush it off and laugh it off, they just want to see you down. The best comeback would be to prove them wrong, and don’t let it bother you. It also helps to just avoid them at all costs, it’s not considered running away it’s considered staying away from stupid people who are obviously not worth your time at all.
Haha, this doesn’t bother me at all, I just found it really hilarious that he would waste the time with him and his friends with this stupid stuff. I’m living a great life, believe or not. Even though I don’t have a girls or girlfriends, I’m still enjoying it. If they define their happiness on girls, partying, and such, then they are obviously unhappy.
No, not fat at all. So what he said doesn’t make sense, just adds more to his stupidity. And even if you were fat who cares, right? It still shouldn’t let it bother you.
I’m glad that you didn’t let it get to you, and yes sadly some guys fit that category about just basing their life on partying and girls which honestly is pretty stupid when living a basic happy life that you’re most importantly happy with is all that should matter. So good for you for raising up from this annoyance!
Reaction is what they are looking for… I don’t quite understand why… but its almost an archetype. I would just straight up ignore his comments - say for example you are having a conversation with someone on their wall and him or his friends interject I would simply ignore the interjection. Pretend that his negative posts don’t exist… without your reaction to his posts you provide no entertainment (it is no fun to bully a rock).
It is ALOT easier to do over facebook than in person… It is very difficult to not appear distressed when a group of people surround you and call you names (difficult to not show your reaction).
It’s funny… our parents told us to just ignore the bullies… it’s unfortunate that popular advice also doesn’t include instructions on how to effectively do so.
Yep, VERY true. A lot easier online, it’s harder when in person and funny how they do it in front of people too to increase the damage and to get an action from you just to give them more fuel to set ablaze.
Don’t worry, most are out of high school, they graduated last year. So its only facebook. Btw guys, I got accepted at Ohio State, Michigan State, and Ohio Northern. So by the time I go to college, they’ll be gone. Plus, those big ten colleges are good practice to meet new people, and its so huge, so I could hit on girls all day and not care cause my chances are good . Even if I fail at 20 or 30 girls, I’m guaranteed to find a couple of attractive ones interested
Make sure that you don’t make your college experience all about getting a girlfriend!
Remember - Confidence established on the basis of external validation is for Betas and Chodes. That type of confidence is like a bubble… sure it can grow - but we’ve all seen what happens when they pop.
Make your college experience about meeting new people, growing as a person, expanding your experiences and boundaries and most important - Having FUN doing it.
