Sad news - tacitus

I am very sad to report that one of our longest-standing forum members - tacitus - passed away a couple of weeks back. He was one of the most perceptive, enlightened and intellectually generous men I have known and he will be greatly missed by many.

Oh PheroQuick, :frowning: Thank you for sharing this sad news with us. I am a bit stunned. I have always had great fondness and respect for tacitus. He was a brilliant artistic light not only here in the forum but I am sure in the lives of all that he knew. Although this is a forum and only a small piece of our lives, this sad and terrible lose will be felt by all of us.

He will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to him as well as all who loved him.

May the gods be with him as he embarks on this new spiritual journey.

It was devastating news to hear and then now for it to be confirmed. We have lost a great man and a personal mentor to myself. :frowning:. I am heartbroken!

Oh wow. He will definitely be missed.

Wow, I don’t know him personally, how old he is and what happened to him… but God Bless him and his family.

My prayers for his family.

Wow I read his journal when I first started here. I have to say one of the most thought perceptive people I had the honor in knowing. He may be gone but the knowledge he left us will never be forgotten. I’m truly grateful Tacitus were ever you are I owe you gratitude that can not be spoken.

That is terrible. He was one of my favourite posters.:frowning:

Oh my god… so it is true. What awful news.

He was always kind, helpful, and encouraging to me - never without a word (or 3000) of advice on fragrances, relationships, artistic pursuits, or… golf. How could one man know so much about so many things?

As a forum member, he was irreplaceable.

Devastated to hear that he’s gone, but ever so grateful to have been party to his wisdom and worldview at all.

Wow. I haven’t been around the forums long but I always enjoyed reading Tacitus’ posts. Not only does it appear he’s reported on pretty much every molecule AD has released, which is a feat in itself, each post was so rich in language and knowledge. I can only imagine the impact he had on people’s lives in the “real” world.

If I may, how old was he?

Thank you for telling us PQ. That is very sad news. We were lucky to have had Tacitus grace us with his presence and incomparable insights. He was a brilliant man. He taught me a lot. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for letting us know, PQ. He was unique and will be missed. I knew that with all his experimentation, he would transcend our reality one way or another. He’ll consider physical death to be a minor inconvenience at worst. At best, a gateway to new experiences and opportunities to explore new dimensions.

I’m sure he’s looking down on us now with a smile. May his body rest in peace. His soul will be exploring a new frontier, no doubt.

Musk

I saw this post yesterday but wasn’t sure how to put this in words until now. Its a tragedy to lose somebody so great, however his spirit will live forever in the work and wisdom evident on this forum among his posts. Forever in requiem his posts will continue to inspire all of us at AD, our clients, and everyone who reads this forum present and future.

:o THE MAD MAN OF MONES IS NO LONGER WITH US :o

I’m so very sure he’ll still be getting marvelous hits wherever he ends up. As he walks amongst those that are no longer visible to us, there will be many heads turning, lots of bootay and boob displays, and some pig oil with mega doses of P79 mixed in … getting rubbed on some hottie, from his mone wear build up!

As the seconds tick off the clock, and the world continues its journey in turns, there will be those of us that will come up missing. I have no idea if you’ll find out if the M to the M has been plucked up from this big round ball, so I will like to say to you, from the movie, The Last Samurai, “I WILL MISS OUR CONVERSATIONS.”

R.I.P. Big T!

And … THANK YOU!

May he in rest in peace.

This is terrible news. The world lost a great person. RIP Tacitus.

There he goes. One of God’s own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

When I first started reading this forum a month or two ago, I came across a few of tacitus’ posts and knew I’d need to read them all. So I went to his user page and started reading. I still haven’t gotten through them all, but I still intend to.

Wish I would have had a chance to know him better.

Good choice to use Gonzo to describe one of the greats

Thanks for sharing the news. I did not know him personally but his posts helped me get started here and I always enjoyed his style of writing. He will be dearly missed.

I will miss his poetry. At the same time I can’t be really sad. From the posts that I have read, it appears that he enjoyed life abundantly. I hope he lived with little regrets. Some people pass through the world with little impact. I can confidently say that Tacitus was not one of those people.
