I know a girl from work, she looks about 23~24 years old. we work at different floor. Sometimes I walk by her desk and I was finally able to talk to her. So everytime I walk by her desk she asks me how I am doing with a million dollar smile on her face. I talked to her about a minute or two today about my college plan and stuff. It was so nice. I wish I could stay longer and talk more, but since I was working, I had to go.
We both work late, when I get to see her, she’s always alone.
I don’t even know her name yet. I would really love to get to know her.
Is there a smooth way to ask her if she has a boyfriend or even married?
It would be very awkward to ask her directly, because basically we ask each other “How are you?” like you would to anybody. Just today we’ve talked longer which made my day. I guess I have a huge crush on her.
I need some way to avoid the awkwardness when she says she’s married or have a boyfriend.
I need your wisdom!! 
P.S. I could only stay next to her desk for no more than a few minutes

First thing I look at is the left hand ring finger. If she’s married, she will have a ring there. If there is no ring then most likely she is not married. If there is no ring or if there is a ring and you feel like home wrecking then just ask her to coffee.
You’ll get your answer. But yeah get her name first, then right in the middle of your conversation, tell her you have to run, and ask her if she wants to meet later for coffee. You’ll most likely get your answer right then and there.

First of all as magus pointed out look at her left hand and see if she has a ring. If she does chances are she is taken. Now, if she doesn’t have one you have an open window to ask if she is seeing anyone at the moment. I know it may seem like a difficult task to do but get over it dude! We all have been there are rejection is part of the it.
Asking a girl if she is committed to someone at work isn’t what u should be asking. You should first see if the girl is willing to go out with you on casual date and then during your date then you can ask her (chances are though if she accepts your offer of going out then theres a good chance she is single). How do you ask her on a date? Just tell her. Don’t be scared what’s the worst she can say “no” big deal; that’s just part of the risk.
Now if she does reject you it doesn’t automatically mean she isn’t into you. This is were most guys make the mistake of avoiding the girl or calling her a “bitch.” Remember your at work and the last thing you want is for this girl to file a grievance towards you. I recommend you keep saying hello and keep smiling like if nothing happend. You might have caught her on a bad day when you ask her so don’t hold it against her or you. Some girls reject guys the first time around just to see what their intentions were. Chances are if she diggs you she will be the one asking you out the next time around.

I always assume that all girls are free to go into casual relationships because statuses of relationships can change. The only REAL game-over is when they are married.
So hence just see if there’s a ring.
