Women, or both?

I have an old girl friend that has recently been contacting me. Our relationship ended because of the lies, which I figured, was because of the distance, and she wasn’t as strong as I am “MENTALLY.” She said what we shared was really SPECIAL. Well, if it was so special, why did you mess it up!? Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Because she THOUGHT she could get away with it?

Thing is … ALL of my ex girlfriends contact me sooner or later, trying to restart the fire in which they messed up. John last month, Dave the next time, Bill’s next, and now M&M. What gives?

Why do women rotate back and forth with boyfriends of the past? Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t even think about calling any of my ex with the exception of about two, and still … that’s just THINKING about calling!

Is it a woman’s thang, or do men do it, too? Life goes bad … calling one of those that you KNEW really cared?

My thought of the day!

I’ve NEVER considered calling an ex like that. I have had several contact me the same way you have. Gotta be a more of a woman thing.

I think most people are afraid of change. They realize there was a certain level of comfort or security that their previous relationships had. Then again there’s that old saying “you never miss a good thing til it’s gone” My ex and I got into a huge fight(her fault) about a month ago. We stopped talking and now she leaving me messages asking “what’s wrong with you” and “I’m lonely, are you coming over tonight”

Very true. I love your signature, that is hilarous!

well the new facebook term is Retrosexual or hooking up with your old lovers on Facebook, or something like that-
Facebook Reunites Long-Lost Crushes - TIME

I have gotten more drunken phone calls from Ex’s over the years,
I tend to give them the “You could not stand me before, what makes you think this time will be different?” or “call me tomorrow when you are sober”
For some reason I don’t hear much out of them for a while, for some reason old relationships have always ended similarly each time. everything starts find and dandy, but it always seems to backslide to the old problems sooner or later.

I guess there’s always going to be different reasons as to why they wanna play again. I do my best to make sure that when they leave they miss me … respect, fun, good sex, and lots of TLC. Still … this lady has it all … smart, intelligence, money, and good looks.

I wished she could have cared for me from her heart, and not from her brain. 'cause if she had … we’d still be together, no matter the distance. Does anyone notice the difference of the two? ‘I’ say, when you love someone from the heart, you can’t do wrong, and you ALWAYS make the right decisions. You?

Maybe she’s bored … who knows. Still … this has been all of my ex girlfriends. It makes me feel good, it confuses me, and it even angers me as to why she has the balls after being caught in a serious lie. I’m not mad at her, 'cause I UNDERSTAND that loneliness and alcohol doesn’t work too well with women. Hell! Alcohol and women don’t work well at all. I now believe the saying, “Liquor is quicker,” but …

To be continued …

Yup! I say, to forgive someone doesn’t mean you allow them back into your life for that same old BS, but you understand and accept them for what and who they are. It’s not personal … it’s the only way they know. Those that left a bad taste in my mouth, are better off where ever they are; and I wish them all well.

A couple of years ago I ran into an old girlfriend, the one I had spent a couple of years living in Europe with, after about 25 years. She recognized me, I didn’t recognize her, she had gotten chunky and frumpy. So she introduces me to her husband and his comment to her was “Is this the Jim you’re always talking about?”, her answer was “yes”, my thought was how quickly can I get my ass out of there.:open_mouth:

I love it! ‘Exit, stage left!’

After 25 years she’s still talking about you often enough that her husband knows your name…

Jim, you made QUITE the impression!

Ya think??
