I have never seen a dignified man/woman sitting in a public place texting, only seen that in young college age people. I have text messaged like five times in my whole life although I consider myself very tech savvy. Also, many people are just not aware of text messaging protocols. So my point is why text? why not just call? or even email?
For the second date I will just call/email her. If she doesn’t respond then the message is clear. You can’t change her mind by anything you say/write in a text message/phone call after having already spent a significant time with her on your first date.
Most men and women I know who are into dating and can have options, like to keep backups, and will probably go on one date with anyone (i.e. even if they are not remotely interested) unless they are creepy or repellent. The idea of free food also entices many people.
I find that text messaging is actually more common then this. I know many successful business people who text back and forth because it is fast and efficient when you are wanting a quick answer. (I know many realtors that do this daily) Email is also good but in a lot of situations texts are appropriate. Some people find comfort more in a text then a phone call as phn calls have more obligation.
Besides it is often good to keep with the method of communication most used b4 the date, which sometimes is indeed texting.
Having said that I dont believe he is actually texting the girl, a message could mean many things
I took the advice for another first date with someone else, didn’t message her at all that night, the next day I got messaged back .. hehe setting up another date now..
