Ladies, a lost gentleman needs your help.

I’m sorry, but if this nonsense drags on until October, I would consider her only a friend…and not a very good one, if she is putting you through all this. So, buy her a gift that you would consider giving to one of your “buddies”…but definitely not an extravagant or intimate gift.

I agree with dolly. I would go with a funny little birthday card or something. She would (hopefully) enjoy it, and it wouldn’t be expensive or intimate at all.

I don’t exactly know what to give a girl friend for a birthday gift. All of my friends are boys, and boys are easy to shop for.

Dolly and Tomboy are right, If things havn’t gotten better by then just give her a card. Dont spend any other money on her.

Tisha

Ahhh! Dude, seriously? I think men are so difficult to shop for. What on Earth do you buy for them?

Sorry about the hijack; that just jumped out at me.

In fact, most MEN are easy to shop for, because Men consider the “thought” of the gift than the actual gift when recieving a gift especially from a Woman. Metrosexual males or young boys may critique and analyze the gift, but the real Men look beyond little material things.

am i in the womens section??

Yeah, that’s very cute, but I’d still rather not get him a tie.

“The thought that counts”…that tends to involve actually putting some thought into the gift, and I don’t happen to be particularly good at it.

I think you missed my point, whether you got him a cheap tie or an armani suit, it really doesnt matter, a Man will look beyond the material gift anyway, it seems like some women buy gifts for Men because they like shopping in the first place, and do it out of self fulfilment rather than pleasing the other person.

ofcourse, If you went out and bought a Box of Cigars, and you know he doesnt smoke, you might encounter a problem.

“the thought that counts” is in the giving, not in what you choose

Sorry, I don’t believe that for half a second.

You better believe it! again you have missed my point, a real Man looks beyond the gift, he looks at her intention of why she bought something for him, and her circumstance, and the bigger picture, a 20 dollar Tie given with feeling wins alot more points for a girl who is struggling financially and that is all she could afford, than a 1000 dollar hugo boss suit given from a girl that is financially well off, but is largely void of any true feeling for the man.

it is all relative and the material gift hardly plays a part

a friend of mine was given a jet-ski from his girlfriend for as a birthday gift, it cost her 20 grand, it was no suprise to me that they broke up 6 months later

Well, Sweetie, sorry for barging impolitely into this thread (which I usually do anyway :stuck_out_tongue:  ) but I have to agree with Bronzie’s point on “Men consider the “thoughts” of the gift than the actual gift when recieving a gift…”. So, women need not to worry what to buy for men or have little money bcoz actually, (for most men), it doesn’t matter at all.

Have a nice weekend, Princess!

What the hell has buying a gift for men got to do with MY enquiry, and it wasnt even a woman buying a man a present. it was about me buying a woman a present.

Besides a real man looks at the intention and not at what was given, though men try to connect the gift and the intention to justify what that intention was.

So if you want to discuss that PLEASE start a differant thread. I am already messed up as it is.

HABI

Your not messed up. You seem like a nice caring person. The reason for the post I wrote (#8 page 1 of thread) was to see if she is playing you or if she is just unsure and confused.

You cant find out if she is playing you by buying her things even birthday presents. So a card is your best bet there unless of course you work things out before then and even if you do you dont need to buy her things to derserve her attention.

If she is playing you then you will know because when the interest and the presents stop she will move on. Relationships even just friendships are about give and take. Right now you seem to be the only one giving.

The main thing you need to know and project is that your a hot catch and deserve to be treated with care and respect. Start believing it, say it to yourself everyday and you will atomatically project it. When you start doing that the girls will be coming to you and maybe this one girl that you like will wake up and decide your the one she wants.

Tisha

This is a discussion forum. It often goes off on tangents, as discussion usually does. I highly doubt by taking a brief interlude to ask tomboy a simple question I am “messing [you] up” any further.

bronzie, I got your point and it was irrelevant to my question. I don’t spend money on men I don’t care about, so the thought is there regardless.

And, thanks, Mohammad.

Well, I agree with our lovely LaurieNY…there’s nothing to be mad about anything here and please take it easy. People on this forum are really nice, friendly and helpful…so, (with due respect), I guess, a little courtesy and respect is highly appreciated.

Laurie, (on board this forum),you’re like the ‘fragrance’ in a perfume…without it, it has no “value” at all!!!

Thank you very much. May God bless us all.

Mohammad

Well ladies and gents

We met and spent 5 hours together today, I looked handsome, i dressed in a red skin tight t-shirt and jeans, plus Ammo , instant shine, instant openess and instant honesty. Well the results we’re like you guys said it would be. I was amazed, her behaviour was different, maybe because we havent seen each other for around a month, but she was talking about stuff she never had, we moved around a lot, the lounge, canteen, the bar, and the park on a nice day like this. Instant honesty worked, currently i’m in the friend box, but now i know… now to get out of the friend box. Her excuse for cancelling me 5 times in a row, she does it to every one, including her mom, i told her i wasnt her mom so she shouldnt treat me like that. I was quite mean to her, she paid for her lunch and bought a round of drinks. (I remember that she should pay for her stuff, but it was difficult, i am a gentlemen and it felt awkward to allow her to pay for her lunch). She also told me she only has one friend because of her constant cancelling of appointments.

She laughed a lot. She talked about other stuff which amazed me because this is stuff she would never talk about before, she would shrug her shoulders or avoid answering, plus get this, she even kissed my cheeks three times, no hesitation, touching me more than she usually would. Plus the very intimate struggle for her cell phone, which i run off with. Normally she expects me to kiss her cheeks, didnt once kiss her, teased her a lot, she responded well to that and i was still angry with her for the last cancellation so i mocked her alot, whether she understood my mocking or not i dont know, but she did bring it up whether i was mocking her or not. i think she picked up the pheros, cos when she kissed my cheek the second time, she clearly commented on the scent i was wearing, well i put cologne in my hair, and the phero’s on my neck and arms, hence the t-shirt.

I will have to wait and see, what happens next time. :open_mouth:

that’s progress! I’m happy for you!

WAAHOOO!!

Way to go! I am so happy your making progress.

Tisha

Ahem, pursue her.

Don’t let her pay for the DATE. Tell her in a MANLY manner, “I’m paying because I am the man and this is a date.”

Bring her flowers.

She doesn’t know yet what it is to be pursued as she is doing half the asking, so it may take her awhile to get used to it.

Be manly and help her here.

Give her flowers for her birthday.

At the end of the date, ask her for the next date.

Steer your time together to DATES.

Don’t be made when she cancels. She doesn’t know what she is doing yet.

Pursue her.

Avoid long phone convos. This is like the opposite of The Rules. If she wants to talk with you for that long, more than a few minutes (really, about 10, maybe 15), it has to be for a date with you.

Bring her a single rose every time, and she will know THIS IS A DATE.

Give her small boxes of chocolates, etc. The idea is simply to get her used to joyously receiving from you. You’re the man. You give. She’s the woman. She receives. Yes, sex is the same way, so I know we all get the idea.

Take her to dance classes.
When you go on a hike together, YOU pack the lunch and tote the water. Bring sunscreen for both of you and put some on her in a caring, protective manner.

And pick up a copy of John Gray’s, Mars and Venus on a Date. Excellent book!

All the best and then some!

April

April

She wasnt treating him well and there was a possibilty she was playing him because in the past he was very generous when ever they were together but she would constantly cancel dates at the last minute and take him for granted. She didnt even call him when he was at the hospital hurt.

Relationships are give and take in my opinion. Both people should give not just the man and the first thing she should have gave him was a little respect and consideration. He certainly gave that to her.

I think once she starts taking him more serously then he can start romancing her but the respect and consideration should come from who he is not what he can give her.

Hopefully he has worked things out by now.

Tisha

Well, I would have to say, very respectfully, that I completely disagree with you, April.

First of all, if a man started pursuing me like that, I would not likely date him for long. It is nice to be wanted, but to be pursued like a dog after a bone is not fun. I have been there, numerous times, and I did not like it. Relationships (the good ones, anyway) ARE give and take…

Second, I would have to agree with Tisha that romancing this woman very much at this juncture would likely create more of a problem, due to their past history.

Just my 2 cents…
