What deodorants do you like to use?

what deodorents do you like to use?

None, i use “Absolut torr”(Absolute Dry). It’s a great antiperspirant.

Natural crystal.

Degree Clinical Protection

it doesn’t really have any scent, just very good wetness prevention

Deodorant? LOL

Anyway, mine is Jovan.

Deo-da-rent? Reminds me of pidgin English spoken in Hawaii. I don’t wear deodorant. Irritates my pits and it’s far better to shower a couple time daily.

Actually, that would be “dea da rent” (in English: There is the rent)

I dunno, dis kine guys no can handle little bit BO or what?

old spice rocks

Gilette 3x Clear Gel Cool Wave

Great antiperspirant, and the cool wave scent isn’t overpowering like a lot of others. The original was better though, the 3x doesn’t seem to work as well.

I like Mitchum original scent deoderant. And also British Sterling is nice.

Even though I’m a girl, I don’t really care for that powdery flowery stuff. I’ve even had compliments on my smell (from men!) wearing nothing except deoderant (oh, and clothes).

Antiperspirant (as opposed to just plain deoderant which only covers odor) is actually really bad for anyone. Because it prevents you from perspiring, all the toxins and things that need to be eliminated are forced to stay all clogged and stagnating inside you.

Mitchum Unscented Anti-Perspirant - I sweat like a pig through my underarms and ruin my shirts if I don’t wear anti-perpirant

Is this true =/???
What negative effects could it cause??

I like old spice on a guy, smells so good, imo.

As for me, I wear Secret Original Scent deodorant. Smells fresh, I like it.

Sucks that anti-perspirants are bad for you. Good thing I hardly ever sweat. :Ð

Not sure, but my brother-in-law is highly allergic to any kind of anti-perspirant, breaks out in a major rash for days.

Any expellant feature of our body is in some way designed to remove toxins and waste products. Urine, feces, sweat…even breathing removes certain toxins from our system. Block any of those, toxins begin to build up and our other removal systems have to take up the slack. But before you start freaking out, remember that our armpits are only a few square inches of skin, a very small percentage of the body. While it might not be a great idea to use an antiperspirant, there’s still a lot of sweat glands left to carry off toxins. I’m more worried about quitting smoking than I am about the effects of my deodorant.

It has been suggested that the active ingredient in antiperspirants (aluminum zirconium (really long complicated word I’m not going to attempt) in my case) could cause trace amounts of “toxic metals” to build up in the system. I’m not really worried about it for the simple fact that it doesn’t completely stop perspiration which means that if it is putting something in my pores, my body is still working to expel it. Probably an oversimplified theory, but I’ve got too much to worry about already.

My advice: use whatever works for you and doesn’t reek, take at least one rather hot shower a week to completely open the pores (take more than one shower a week, but make sure at least one is a HOT one), use a loofah pad or synthetic scrubber to exfoliate the dead skin cells that don’t allow your skin to breathe (also completely eliminates any trace pheromones that may stick around so you’re “clean” for your next dose), and take vitamins or suppliments that have antioxidants and/or minerals that promote healthy blood flow and other bodily functions. Consider doing a yearly detox, not the head shop kind but the health food kind.

If you’re healthy, keep an eye on your diet, exercise and follow the above, I really wouldn’t worry about any minor problems arising from your choice of underarm treatment.

They can get all clogged, swell up and explode, didn’t you know?

Im not too keen on exploding.. :frowning:

LOL, I don’t want you to explode either

Exploding underarms are not fun!!!

It happens very rarely… but on occasion you can clog up and than your underarms will start to swell dramatically… if you don’t get it looked at infection can follow

Exactly!!!

And, if you do use antiperspirant regularly, you should also have your underarms checked out regularly when you have your annual physical.

I should note - clogging up is much less likely if you don’t shave your armpits

Apparently what often happens is that the anti-perspirant particles enter further into the skin than they are supposed to due to hair growth - ingrown hair growth speeds the process.
