Is using pheromones ethical? I’m not trying to come across as a stick in the mud because I’m not. I won’t be winning any ethics awards probably anytime soon. I was just curious if there was an anti-pheromone group out there. There has to be because everytime there’s a good thing, someone always tries to stifle it.
I can’t wait to try my new pheromones out. I ordered them today. I ordered Ammo, Instant Openess, and Instant Shine. I love new experiences.
Well of course its not. Mones dont take away a persons free will. They just evoke emotion and response. They influence but they do not change.
Say for instance you have on TUTH and it makes me aroused which it usually does. Im not going to knock you down behind a bush and take advantage of you. I am married and I dont know you LOL It wont take away my free will to choose. Of course when I get home I may knock my husband down and take advantage of him but he dosnt mind
Think of it as just one more thing you do to enhance yourself. Like a haircut, a new outfit, a good cologne. These are all things you do to attract others. Nope its not unethical.
The answer is of course based on one’s own ethical standards. Tisha has given her answer, which is similar to many others on this forum.
I am not aware of any anti-pheromones groups. Most people do not think they can be significantly influenced by pheromones, so they don’t take an “anti” stance. If the evidence for behavioral effects becomes more widely known and accepted I would expect such “anti” groups to begin emerging.
Postscript added in edit - This is an old thread in which a number of ethical questions were explored
You do realize humans, like most creatures, produce mones naturally? The problem is modern hygiene washes most of them off, hence artificial mone enhancement. You are still you, but slightly better. Like Tisha wrote, mone enhancement is more akin to a nice shirt, new hairdo or cologne. It does not defeat freewill or transform the wearer into something they are not.
I think the common misconceptions about mones comes from watching the Discovery Channel, PBS, NG, etc., as they often show insects and lower mammals responding to mones with involuntary behavior. The diff is humans have a brain capable of ignoring and/or delaying biological urges, e.g., she smells your mones and thinks “I horny,” but looks at you and walks away as you look poor, too old, too short, etc. If only TUTH caused involuntary mating behavior as in hogs:
Pheromone wearing is a neutral thing, something that gives you more power. What you do with that power can be ethical or unethical. It is your intention, your actions and their results that are ethical or not.
For example, one could wear TUTH with one’s wife to add a spark to the marriage or while teaching 13yo’s to make them open to being molested by you. That does not make TUTH ethical or unethical even if the actions are.
Not too likely TUTH will turn on 13-year olds. Much more likely it will scare them shitness and cause them to flee. Works great on older women…
While I believe mones add a certain amount of social empowerment, the enhancement is your toe in the door for about 30 seconds. You still gotta seize the moment and follow up with substance and action. Mones can’t make up for a lack of social skills, education or character. Nobody will get very far taking unfair advantage of anyone just because they’re wearing mones.
Hey if using an edge like A314 or AMMO, or CTTM2 is WRONG, I dont wanna be RIGHT, haha!!
Life is all about enjoying what the big man upstairs made for us, and the ppl in it, so why not? Now if ur trying to extort or blackmail, thats a diff story. But if you’re trying to get a raise to feed your kids, or meet a potential mate, smartmones is your friiiiend..
Good question. When Joe SixPack and company starts to believe that pheromones really work, we better be prepared with an answer.
There really is very little difference between toys, tools , and weapons. You can use your hammer to build the most beautiful cabinetry and furniture. Or you can use your hammer to beat someone to death.
When the wrong pheromones (panic, confusion) get into the wrong hands (military/police) we are going to have to defend our craft.
We probably already have most of the answers if we knew where to look.
We have plenty of proof that pheros are not a magic bullet.
With all the history, all the thousands of stories and threads, there must be a few about the ethical use of pheromones. The times when we used pheromones to make a better world for everyone around us.
Perhaps our Human Google could be of some assistance.
Methinks you greatly overestimate the power of mones underestimate the power of the mind. Humans don’t respond to mones like insects or rats. We get the signal, think about and choose to ignore it or act on it. Most of the time we ignore it. Hell, it’s easier than skipping lunch or ignoring the urge to pee.
Great thread. The first name “What do we owe responders?” described it better.
You spoke of debt. Others saw a duty. For me it more question of responsiblity. Think of the responsibility of rank or leadership. How much of that kind of responsibility would fall on the mythical Alpha that we aspire to?
I hope you’re right. I really want to be wrong on this one.
I want to believe that i am beginning to understand the power of pheromones, but without a doubt, you have worlds more experience with them than i do.
But i don’t think that i underestimate the power of the military/industrail complex that we were warned about so long ago. That’s where the problem comes in.
Well, if it were so easy–like insects drawn to a mone emitting plant–I’d don A314/TUTH and be humpin’ every hot babe that walked by while her husband washed my car, cuttin’ incredible real estate deals for a song and have strangers throw their coats across puddles so I can cross without dirtying mah sneakers. Not…
No human emotion is not created in the lab. Mones dont create the emotion they influence it to be expressed.
Humans are not like animals. We have rational thought processes.
Animals… feel and react, there is no in between.
Humans… Feel, process then react.
Mones cant change a persons feelings. Hate is hate and love is love but they can make us process those feelings more and react to them instead of just ignoreing them like most of us have been conditioned to do.
There is no mone that can make a straight man gay. Perhaps some sort of hallucinogen could but its highly doubtful that you could get a mass number of people to have the same hallucination.
It was my impression that pheromones cause additional FEELINGS for which a person has to process and react to - Additional sensory information if you will (alot like a new haircut) - if someone doesn’t like you at all they might feel aroused due to TUTH but when they process that feeling they weigh it against their OTHER feelings and react accordingly - just like if I get a new haircut it MIGHT be enough to get some girl to like me… but if she hated me before the haircut - it is unlikely the haircut will change anything
