Self-Effects:
Took stock of how I was feeling before the application. I was feeling somewhat tired, gloomy, slow. If I could, I would not have been opposed to curling up in bed for a couple of hours! The cloud cover and overcast affects me in this way usually. So, I applied to my wrist because I was ready to wash it off with soap if the odor began to cause a migraine. But, the spray head sort of coughed and only gave me a little squirt. This was enough for me to smell IS and it gave me a very small inkling of a headache on my frontal lobe, usually the location of my allergic migraines. The odor was fine after a minute and no further progression of this precursor to a headache. I then applied a complete spray of IS to the bottom of my wrist and spread it to my other wrist and throat area. Didn’t feel much of anything, but about a few minutes later, started to have a small smile on my face. About 1/2 an hour later that small start of a headache went away. Would have an ocassional feeling of very minor light-headedness after that.
While driving, I started to feel very uplifted, tiredness was gone, and I was not wanting to hear about some boring study on an NPR program. I usually listen to talk radio shows or some jazz, but I wanted to listen to something more upbeat. I changed the FM stations and found myself nodding my head and tapping on the steering wheel, singing to songs like: Santa Monica by Everclear (YouTube - Everclear - Santa Monica) or Barracuda (YouTube - Barracuda- Heart)… :pHaven’t done that in a while…
Feeling more alert and ready to go.
By 4:00 pm, was feeling a bit of the tiredness coming on, yawning. Then I sniffed my wrist and that went away again. Weird.
Effects On Others:
About an hour after application, stopped at a gas station to fill up, though I used my gas card and could of gotten my receipt at the pump, I decided to go in and see if anything noticeable would come of my interaction with the clerk. Waited on another customer in line and smiled and asked for my receipt. I asked him about traffic, what time it usually gets heavy there and told me. Was cooperative and nice like a normal clerk. However, I found myself feeling, not happy, but I would say, content or satisfied.
Spent 12:30 to 3:00 at the clients office, pretty normal stuff. Asians and Hispanics I met were reserved as usual. Said hi when addressed. IT director and IT manager, I’ve known many years, were acting the same, Caucasians.
Noticed though, the IT manager when talking with him alone, we were together in a cold 60 degree server room for 20 minutes, he was talking to me about some troubles he was having with hardware, a site that was down in Florida, he had to fly out there, etc. Lasted about 4 minutes. Don’t normally see him talk too much like that to me. I did notice a slight increase in speed of my memory recall. I normally can recall manual configurations if you give me a few seconds but the information was coming slightly faster, instead of 3 to 4 seconds, 1 to 2 as an example.
Basically, that was it. I haven’t seen anyone else. I’ll report later if 7 hours after application my wife will have any reaction.
Continued from 7 hours after application on forward
Still had a very very mild odor of IS on my wrists and on my throat as I could still smell it, 7 hours later. Note, I’m sensitive to odors, it may not be that way for the average Joe. I gave my wife a call, we’ll call her A, to let her know I was going to start some cooking. I started with the vege’s slowly sauteed in water and garlic base with cardemon and the chicken breast was prep’ed for the grill. When she arrived, gave her a quick hug and she was a little miffed about something that happened at work and I listened. We continued to cook together. This is another relaxing hobby we do together, though not as often as I would like.
Maybe it was the atmosphere and our Golden just being sooo cute staring at our hands giving us the ‘just give me a little bit of what you have!’ and following us around the kitchen. The looks she gives us when she does this when we’re cooking always puts us in a contented and relaxed mood. Not, much more happening during this time. Had many smiles and a few laughs.
Got a visit from our real estate agent, she seemed her same cheerful self. No change in her behaviour. News was not good since we are lowering the price point of our house. Interestingly, I had accepted this fact and was resigned to let the cards fall where they may, A had been flustered for the weeks prior about this potential update. I was continually reassuring her that we’d be fine with that reduction.
She took the news much better that I expected and I asked her about it after the agent left and A said 'I don’t know, It’s ok, I don’t like it, but it’s ok now, as long as the house is sold."
Could have been our conversations up to this point or the relaxed mood our cooking together put her in this state of mind.
By this time, don’t have an IS odor, @ 8 1/2 hours later.
NOTE: I was thinking that the flamed bell peppers I was preparing, onions and other spices would affect the IS if it was applied during this time? That is, since I had an almost no existent IS application, these other odors and heat would overrun the IS. Something I want to look into further on.
